The last movie that hit this mark was Titanic in 1997!
The movie has not yet reached the mark but they expect it after this weekend. It stands at $993.7 million and half of that was generated by foriegn ticket sales.
The 1997 movie Titanic exceeded global box office sales of $1.8 billion, while 2003's The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King gross sales were $1.1 billion. Damn, that's a shit load of money!

'Get rid of the old and on with the new' is Ashlee Simpson's motto of chaging boyfriends. Guitarist Braxton Olita is dumped boyfriend and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz is the new delight. Ashlee and Pete were spotted necking last Saturday night in the VIP section of a N.Y.C. nightclub.
Simpson broke up with Olita only a week ago and fell head over heels for Wentz only days after their break.
I guess Ashlee is not the only one dropping mates. Her new beau Wentz got rid of his long-time girlfriend, Buffy The Vampire star Michelle Trachtenberg, to be with Ashlee. Now, that's pathetic!

Supposedly, Britney Spears will be delivering her second child early by Caesarian section. The pop diva and hubby Kevin Federline scheduled the delivery at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, California, just a week before their son Sean Preston's first birthday. Reported Wenn.
The couple does not know the sex of the baby, so the nusery is decorated in neutral colors.
They've selected several girl and boy names, but not definite on one, yet until their bambino arrives.
Spear's son Sean Preston was also delivered by C-section, so Brit is use to the procedure.
Federline told reporters that their second child wasn't due until Halloween. Surprise, surprise number two baby is coming sooner.
Rumor has it that Britney plans to name her baby girl Jailynn after her parents, Jamie and Lynn, and her little sister, Jamie Lynn.

Despite being one of Hollywood's hottest young starlets, Kirsten Dunst has admitted that she often feels sad and lonely.
The 24-year-old The Spider-Man actress said she regrets missing out on a normal childhood.
Kirsten Dunst told Now magazine: "Very few people recognise the real me. We all feel sad and lonely but there's more of it than people realise."
She continued: "I've had to grow up very fast in the adult world of acting and I know that, if I have kids, I'll never put them through this.
"I'm not depressed about it, but showbusiness can be a sad and lonely place."
The blonde beauty starred in TV ads and movies from a young age but she shot to global fame aged 11, when she appeared in Neil Jordan's flick, Interview With The Vampire.
She added: "I regret that I've done so much in such a short time and I regret some of the decisions that were taken on my behalf. I missed out a lot on my childhood."
Kirsten Dunst also commented that the sudden wealth brought it own pressures: "Money can make life complicated," she added. "I had a lot of financial responsibility for my family which made me old before my time."
