Cross's publicist, Heidi Slan said: "Mother and twins are healthy and well".
Cross had been on bed rest since January for precautionary measures; the twins were not due until April.
Producers of "Desperate Housewives," in which Cross stars as the persnickety Bree, decided last month to move production of her scenes to her Los Angeles home, according to a recent story posted on TV Guide's Web site. Reported ABC News.

Discuss...she met with a lawyer.
It's been reported that Britney Spears has once again checked herself out of Malibu rehab center after just checking a day before. Shortly, after checking out she met with a lawyer in West Hollywood, California yesterday afternoon (21FEB07).
The 25-year-old pop singer was spotted at the law office of Blair Berk, a high-powered criminal defense lawyer, who also represented Mel Gibson last year after his drink driving arrest, according to Contact Music.
Spears left the law office at 2pm, left and were dropped off at the Bel Air Hotel. It seems the Toxic princess has good intentions in cleaning up her act and than changes her mind shortly after the fact.

The 'Lost' star Michelle Rodriques, was convicted twice in 2004 and 2005, and expressed her disappointment at the driving regulations and the restrictions she's had to face in a personal Blog.
"I was only going 15 miles per hour and the cops stopped me even when the speed limit was 35 mph.
"I was so pissed that I cried. I hired some lawyer from Hawaii; the lawyer cost so much I lost my 28 acres of land and my home in Jersey. I just should have gone a public defender and saved all my money."
She added: "I realized my payday in movies was way better than TV at that moment. I get b***h slapped by Uncle Sam again in Hollywood. I get a sentence to wear a bracelet for three months to detect liquor content in your sweat.
"The second day the guy calls me and says you've got an alcohol reading. I was like, I haven't had any liquor. He's like; well you can't use Listerine, any shampoo, or soap, or lotion, or perfume, with alcohol in it.
"I started to feel a bit like a pawn. For someone like me this level of control just isn't necessary." Reported Ask Men.
