Richard Gere did a big "no, no" in India. He supposedly forced a hug and kiss to actress Shilpa Shetty at an AIDS Awareness event in India.
In front of an Indian crowd, Gere practically lapped the nervous Shetty; by practicing what he thought was good cultural manners in India.
Apparently, soon after the incident, there was a swarm of Indian shouting “Down with Gere!”
The protesters said kissing Shilpa like that is against their culture, according to MSNBC.

Recently Salma Hayek has gotten engaged to a powerful French businessman and spoke to Marie Claire Magazine about her thoughts on being an Latina actress and how unfair the pressures of being a woman.
