David and Victoria Beckham were formally welcomed to Los Angeles last night at a party hosted by Tom Cruise, Will Smith and their wives, Katie Holmes and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Other guests that attended the party at the Museum of Contemporary Art included actors Jim Carrey, Eva Longoria and Brooke Shields.
Cruise, who is currently shooting his latest film 'Valkyrie' in Germany, flew in for the party.
Director Ron Howard and producer Brian Grazer also attended the invite-only event, as did Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.
Spice Girl Mel B and 'American Idol' creator and former Spice Girl manager Simon Fuller were among the celebrities there.
Beckham made his football debut for his new team, LA Galaxy, earlier yesterday before a sold-out crowd, which included many celebrities.
Victoria Beckham watched the game from a private box with Katie Holmes and her daughter.

Country music bad boy Keith Urban has admitted his marriage to Nicole Kidman was about to collapse when he sought treatment last year for alcoholism.
The 39-year-old singer, who is a former crack cocaine addict with a reputation as a womaniser, checked into the Betty Ford Centre last October for a three-month rehabilitation programme
He says that several years before his June 2006 marriage to Nicole, he underwent treatment for cocaine abuse, but he never properly dealt with the root causes of his troubles.
And after he finished making his latest album, he discovered he had "this big monkey on my back".
In an exclusive interview last week, he said:
"When I was making the record, I was able to stay focused on that, and so I was in a relatively good place. When the record was finished, though, it all hit the fan.
"My wife was away. She hadn't really been away before, and it came as a shock to me to be alone and not prepared for it: alone with this (addiction) that I had, this big monkey on my back.
"I think everybody was a little unsure what to do, other than my wife, who really took the reins. The way my wife did it and the place in which I was ready to surrender came together in such an alignment that it allows me to sit here today and be where I am.
"Not going in would have cost me my career at the very least, and my marriage would have been gone, anyway. That real cleansing and surrendering everything is what was really needed for me.
"I realised:'This is the crossroads of my life. If I want a life, this is the time to take charge'."
"It sounds strange, but I'm glad it happened. There's no doubt that what it's done for our marriage has been truly divine. It has brought my wife and me to a place that may never have happened for us.
"It was just time to take care of my life."
Urban's astonishing admission follows weeks of speculation about his marriage.
The actress is known to have misgivings about her husband's hellraising reputation.
During their stormy engagement, he assured her he was ready to settle down.
But friends remain worried about their very different lifestyles. Nicole is a glamorous leading lady from a middleclass Australian family, while Urban grew up on a farm and revels in his scruffy 'Urban cowboy' image.
Their romance followed her divorce from Tom Cruise, and other failed relationships, and she is said to be terrified that Urban is incapable of serious commitment.

According to Variety, Cruise (if he decides to play the role, which he claims to be “intrigued” by) will “play the title character, a CIA officer who is fingered by a defector as a Russian sleeper spy. Salt must elude capture by his superiors and sets out to reunite with his family and prove his innocence.” Terry George ("Hotel Rwanda") will reportedly direct the film, which will be scripted by Kurt Wimmer and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Sunil Perkash.

Authorities say 46 people were accused of underage drinking, 14 of disorderly conduct and three each of public drunkeness, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Good times.
The police department apparently planned for a big bust and were assisted by officers from the state police Liquor Control Enforcement and the Dauphin County Drug Task Force.

Pregnant star Milla Jovovich can't stop eating.
The model-turned-actress, who is expecting her first child, admits she has been piling on the pounds since falling pregnant.
She said in an interview with InStyle magazine: "I used to smoke cigarettes, drink champagne - I was a big champagne person - but now eating is the only vice I have left!"
Although she's still got four months to go Milla - who has been in a relationship with film director Paul Anderson since 2002 - knew she would pile on the pounds at an alarming rate.
She said: "I have a very addictive personality. They say you're supposed to gain 30lbs when you have a baby and I'm nearly there already! All those stories that you see on TV - 'I eat when I'm upset!' I totally get it now."
Milla is due to give birth to a baby girl in November and is worried about the trouble her daughter may cause.
She added: "I'm 90 per cent sure it's a girl. I know I'm in for it, at least if my own relationship with my mother says anything!"
I think she still looks pretty damn good.

The singer-and-actor is desperate to hit the road with his superstar wife, so they can showcase their vocal talents together.
He told Billboard magazine: "We're seriously talking about going out this year and putting together an amazing show with just her and me."
The couple have several hit albums to their names, but J.Lo has never been on a full blown tour, unlike veteran Marc who cannot wait to show his inexperienced wife how to cope on the road.
He explained: "Jennifer has never toured, but I've toured all my life. It is something she's always wanted to do, but she has never had the time. This is where I can step in and say, 'Oh, my God, this could be fun', and introduce her to that world."
If the tour goes ahead it will not be the first time the married couple have worked together.
The pair star together in new movie 'El Cantante', in which Marc plays salsa legend Hector Lavoe and J.Lo his wife. They also performed a duet together at the 2005 Grammy Awards.

Victoria Beckham has reportedly warned Paris Hilton to stay away from her soccer star husband David.
The Spice Girl, who moved to Los Angeles with David and their three sons earlier this month, was said to be furious when she heard the hotel heiress had described the Los Angeles Galaxy player as "hot".
Now she has allegedly told friends that Paris and other young Hollywood stars - including Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears - better keep their hands off David.
A source told Britain's Star magazine: "This move to Los Angeles means everything to her. She is happier with David than ever and sees this as an exciting chapter for her and their boys.
"Although she trusts David 100 per cent, she will not tolerate any of the Los Angeles party girls making a move on him, or seeing him as fair game. She wants this to be very clear from the start - David is a devoted family man and these women should forget about trying it on with him.
"The young Hollywood club crowd, such as Lindsay, Paris and Britney, are positively salivating over David."
Last week, it was claimed Victoria had turned down Paris' offer of friendship.
Paris is reported to have said about Victoria: "We could be soul mates."
However, the 'Wannabe' singer apparently told a pal: "Over my dead body!"
