Actress Maggie Q wears lettuce and then some chili peppers in the newest ads from PETA, trying to get people to lay off the meat and eat more veggies.
Maggie Q, who became a vegeterian seven or eight years ago, said she hopes she can speak out for the animals as the animals are not able to tell their plight. As to the sexy posters, she said her purpose is to draw the public's attention to vegetarianism in an extreme way. She is rather conservative generally speaking, she said with a laugh.

New York-based advertising agency Jugular has created a series of ads for Canterbury Institute, an addiction treatment center in New Jersey, which will invite serious debate about dealing with alcohol and drug addictions.
An ad releasing Tuesday morning in The New York Sun newspaper reads in large type “DON’T DIE LINDSAY!”
The body copy continues “While the rest of the world is going in and out of rehab, Canterbury Institute is changing the rules of addiction treatment....”

TMZ has learned that "24" star Kiefer Sutherland was busted on suspicion of DUI in West Hollywood last night, after allegedly blowing more than twice the legal limit of .08. This is the actor's second DUI in the past five years -- he was arrested in 2004. By California law, if he's convicted, he must serve a mandatory minimum of five days in jail.
Police sources tell TMZ 40-year-old Sutherland was pulled over around 1:35 AM PST on the corner of La Cienega and Beverly. Sutherland was at the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party at Area nightclub earlier that evening. The photo in this story was taken at the event.
Sutherland, who was stopped after making an illegal U-turn, was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and transported to the Hollywood Police station. He was booked at 4:09 AM and released at 5:42 AM on $25,000 bail.
We're told Sutherland was "cooperative and mellow" while he was in custody.
According to the L.A. Sheriff's Dept. website, the actor is 5'10" and weighs 150 lbs. Sutherland is scheduled to face a judge on October 16. A rep for Sutherland told TMZ "It would be premature to comment at this time."

The "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" star is said to be in talks with film bosses to star as the sexy superhero in a movie version featuring the Justice League of America, a crime fighting superhero team featured in DC comics.
A representative for Jessica, 25, said: "It's too early to confirm the deal will go ahead."
Warner Bros. also refused to comment on Jessica's involvement in the movie. "Babe" director George Miller will helm the live-action film which is based on the comic book which brings Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman together, along with a host of other DC superheroes.

Pamela Anderson's wild partying is putting her health at risk.
The former 'Baywatch' star - who contracted hepatitis C from sharing a tattoo needle with ex-husband Tommy Lee - is said to be in danger of seriously damaging her liver with her excessive drinking and constant partying.
A source told New York Post newspaper: "She parties almost every night. She drinks, she does stuff and she's got hepatitis C. Her liver is shot but she keeps living this crazy lifestyle.
"We don't think she understands how serious this is. She has two kids and may not be around to see them grow up at this rate."
The 40-year-old actress - mother to sons Brandon, 11, and Dylan, nine - is said to be leading an even wilder lifestyle since she began dating Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend Rick Salomon.
The source said: "They went wild over the MTV Video Music Awards weekend. I just watched them party with my jaw open."

Tommy Lee and Kid Rock have been offered $5 million to settle their feud in a winner takes all boxing match.
Las Vegas nightclub boss Jeff Beacher, who originally offered the two ex-husbands of Pamela Anderson $1 million to fight, has now upped the stakes in the hope of luring them into the ring.
Beacher said, "I've teamed up with legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum and now the prize is $5 million."
Earlier this month, Beacher claimed the pair were feuding over Pammie and offered them the chance to resolve their differences, saying, "We all know that they are fighting over Pam Anderson. What better way to settle their differences then to slug it out in the ring!"
Lee and Rock came to blows at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas’ Pearl Theatre at the Palms Casino Resort on September 9.

Paris Hilton is planning to visit Rwanda.
The hotel heiress - who vowed to better herself after serving 23 days in jail for driving offences in June - hopes to use her fame to draw attention to the plight of the war-torn African country.
Paris, 26, told E! Online: "I'll be going in November, after I get back from filming my movie.
"There's so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help.
"I want to visit more countries where poverty and children's issues are a big concern.
"I know there's a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues."

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren are back together yet again. The pair was spotted out enjoying a Malibu shopping excursion recently, where Jess was seen shopping with Warren, helping choose shirts and clothing for him.
According to the sources, onlookers at the shopping mall tell that they saw Jessica “sneaking a peek at a pair of very stylish looking baby shoes.”
Photographers on the sight continued to ask her who the baby shoes were for, but Jessica did not answer them.
She and Warren left shortly after.

US star Jennifer Lopez and her husband paid an emotional visit to a school in the Bronx area of New York, a few streets from where she grew up.
“That was so ... Oh my God, what did you do to me? Look at my makeup!” said a teary Lopez after hundreds of schoolchildren greeted the couple with cheers, broad smiles, flowers and artwork made just for them.
Three days before they launch a musical tour to support a children’s health campaign, Lopez and Marc Anthony, who married in 2004, said they were “overwhelmed” by the welcome at PS 36 Unionport School.
“We look at you and see ourselves,” said Lopez, dressed in a 1950s-style grey dress and black hat. “This is overwhelming. I remember being in school, being on stage, and dreaming of great things.”
“There’s nothing in the world, no Grammy, no Oscar, that can make me feel more warm than today,” said an equally teary-eyed Anthony, who recently released the soundtrack to El Cantante, a biopic of salsa legend Hector Lavoe.
Lopez said that on the tour – her first – she will perform songs from her recent album Como Ama Una Mujer (How a Woman Loves).
