Mother-to-be Nicole Richie celebrated the impending birth of her baby by holding a baby shower on Sunday.
The star, who is expecting her first child with Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, invited around 90 well-wishers to the Beverly Hills, Calif., event hosted by her mother Brenda, and organized by her sister Sophia and pals Paris Hilton and Masha Gordon.
Although Richie has not revealed the sex of her child, one guest presented the 26-year-old with baby boy sneakers and a maternity T-shirt emblazoned with a picture of a boy on the front.
Richie's baby is due in January next year

Britney Spears has been granted permission to celebrate Thanksgiving with her two sons - albeit a day before the U.S. holiday itself. The troubled pop star will be allowed to see her young boys Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, on Wednesday (21Nov07), after her lawyer Anne Kiley managed to negotiate the deal with Kevin Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan last week.
The two legal representatives are also reported to be in the process of working out a deal for the Christmas holidays, according to TMZ.com. Spears is locked in a custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, after she was stripped of physical custody of the boys last month (Oct07). She is currently entitled to three court-monitored visits per week.

His nephew (by marriage) Wally West was exposed to electrically charged chemicals at ten years old when he was visiting his uncle’s police laboratory. West donned a copy of his uncle’s outfit and became the young crime fighter named Kid Flash. After Barry Allen was killed, Wally took over as the fastest man alive. The Flash possesses “super-speed,” and superhuman reflexes which allow him to violate certain laws of physics. Wedding Crashers and Fred Claus helmer David Dobkin is signed on to direct a Flash feature film following production of Justice League.
Common (Smokin’ Aces, Wanted) is John Stewart aka The Green Lantern, who first appeared in July 1940. The Green Lantern possesses a power ring that gives him control over the physical world as long as the wielder has sufficient willpower and strength to wield it. Greg Berlanti (The Broken Hearts Club) is set to direct a feature film based on the character following the JLA movie. Berlanti is penning the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.
Teresa Palmer (Wolf Creek, The Grudge 2) as Talia Ghul - a recurring love interest for Batman. Her father, Ra’s al Ghul, the leader of a worldwide criminal empire, considers Batman the man most worthy to marry Talia and to become his heir. Not quite heroine, nor villainess Talia has undoubtedly committed criminal acts; but out of loyalty to her father and not for personal gain. She has also saved Batman’s life or helped him on numerous occasions.

'Fantastic Four' star Jessica Alba has told Fox News that she's ready to take eight months off from the movie business to just "read", leading some to speculate that the sabbatical could be maternity leave.
Alba attended the premiere of her new movie 'Awake' at New York's Chelsea West Theatre last Wednesday (November 14), telling Roger Friedman, "I've worked the last two and a half years without stopping. This is the time to do it."
Following these releases, the actress is going to take some time out to read. "That would be nice," she said.

The actress entered the emergency room of a New York hospital on Monday.
"Mary Kate got a kidney infection," says rep Nicole Caruso. "She's resting comfortably and will be released in the next day or so."
The actress, who turned 21 in June, recently said she was in good health.
"Mentally, physically, I feel pretty on top of my game right now," she told EW.com in September, as she prepared for her debut in Showtime's Weeds. "Talk to me next week, I don't know. Today, I feel good."

The party-loving sister of British music producer Mark Ronson, Samantha, has slammed rumours that she was responsible for fuelling Lindsay Lohan's bad behaviour.
The Los Angeles DJ is a close pal of the troubled star, who has recently spent multiple stints in rehab, but has often been criticised for allegedly indulging the actress' wild lifestyle.
However she has hit back at the rumours labelling them "false" and "frustrating".
She tells New York Post's gossip column PageSix, "It's frustrating that I have to make a comment about my friends, but apparently taking the high road only generates false allegations. "Those who know me know the truth. I'm not sure where or why these rumours started, but that's all they are."
