Ne-Yo has refuted rumours that he is in a relationship with Hayden Panettiere.
The singer was spotted holding Panettiere's hand outside a New York club on Monday night, but he insists that their relationship is purely platonic.
He is quoted by Fametastic as saying: "I was helping her out of the car! She had these shoes - they were cute - but they were torture devices, so I had to help her.
"We’d only known each other for one day. She was hanging out with some friends and invited me to come out.
"I’m a fan of Hayden’s show Heroes, so I was excited to know she was going to do [these appearances] with me. Hayden is cool people. She’s a little silly. But silly is good."
Panettiere and Ne-Yo met while touring Ronald McDonald House Charities together across the US as part World Children's Day.

Glamour model Jordan has said she’s finally booked herself in for her long-awaited boob reduction.
The pinkaholic, real name Katie Price, has long been talking about reducing the size of her 32FF breasts so that they remain pert as she ages and initially planned to have them done after giving birth to daughter Princess Tiaamii earlier in the year.
She said recently: “I’m treating myself to a boob job in three weeks so they’re ripe and ready for Christmas. I’m having smaller implants put in and they’ll be perkier.”
A spokesperson for Katie and husband Peter Andre’s ITV2 chat show, Katie and Peter Unleashed, added: “Katie’s been talking about it for a while. She’s all booked in now - and is hoping to show them off in a figure-hugging dress on the show. She keeps telling Pete it’s his Christmas present.”
