Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt has defended her curves after bikini photos of her frolicking on a beach were posted on the internet.
The photos, showing the star of The Ghost Whisperer relaxing on a beach with her partner Ross McCall, have been ridiculed by internet posters.
An angry Hewitt, who became famous after starring in the horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer, defended herself on her website.
"I've sat by in silence for a long time now about the way women's bodies are constantly scrutinised," she said.
"To set the record straight, I'm not upset for me, but for all of the girls out there that are struggling with their body image.
"Like all women out there should, I love my body. To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini - put it on and stay strong."

Joel on how good he felt after the event: “Sometimes people don’t want to believe that me and Nicole are just a young couple having a baby and we’re really excited. We don’t really get to share our lives with people. It’s nice to connect with people on a real level.”

Motown legend and Oscar-nominated actress Diana Ross was saluted in Washington D.C. Sunday night as one of five Kennedy Center honorees.
During a musical tribute to the former Supreme at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, R&B star Ciara sang "I'm Coming Out," while gospel great Yolanda Adams sang "Reach Out and Touch (Somebody's Hand)" and Vanessa Williams belted "Touch Me in the Morning" – all classic singles from the 63-year-old entertainer.
In addition to Ross, the 30th Kennedy Center Honors class included singer Brian Wilson, filmmaker Martin Scorsese, actor Steve Martin and pianist Leon Fleisher.
The annual event celebrates the honorees' contributions to American culture. The two-hour program will air as a CBS special on Dec. 26.

Love her or hate her, Britney Spears fascinated people in 2007 with the disgraced pop princess heading a list of the top 10 searches on Yahoo.
Britney Spears has topped the annual Yahoo list for six of the past seven years, only losing out once -- in 2004 -- to her friend and fellow party girl Paris Hilton. But Chan said overall the Britney Spears searches were up from a year ago.
Rounding out the top three was Paris Hilton, who also made the top three in 2006.
The rest of the top 10 is essentially made up of other female celebrities including Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba, and Fergie.

Charlize Theron says being a celebrity is not everything it is cracked up to be. The actress says she hates being a celebrity.
“I don’t like celebrity. I don’t like this whole culture that we’re living in now, and I don’t like this casual attitude that if you decide to be an actor then your life is up for grabs,”
Theron says. “It’s just not nice to go and get your groceries and have seven cars following you. I think I am becoming a little bit more closed off because of it.”
The mum-of-three admits to E!’s The Daily 10 that it’s highly unlikely that she will be stripping off for the cameras once again.
The reason, she insists, is that nudity is not ‘her thing’.
"Listen, there's a reason why you don't see me naked me in movies, you don't see me running around in bathing suits in movies. It's just not my thing," usmagazine.com quoted her, as saying.
Roberts, who famously used a body double to shoot nude scenes in the movie that catapulted her to stardom ‘Pretty Woman’, now joins the ranks of actor Brad Pitt, who recently stated that he would not be dropping his clothes ever again.
Roberts’ new movie hits the big screen in the US on December 21.

At first, the singer – wearing a form-fitting black dress and spike heels – and her new beau kept things low-key in a secluded booth. But as the night wore on, the two were spotted with their arms around each other. Then, after a few seconds of conversation, they leaned in for a kiss – right in the middle of the crowded club.
Also on hand for the bash were Cobb's Scrubs-star boyfriend, Donald Faison, and Simpson's mane man, Ken Paves.

Britney Spears celebrated her 26th birthday with Paris Hilton yesterday (02.12.07).
The 'Gimme More' singer and Paris were still partying at 4am as they enjoyed a cigarette on the balcony of the Beverly Hills Fours Seasons hotel.
Earlier in the evening, the pair attended a party hosted by Sharon Stone at the Scandinavian Style Mansion along with Britney's two friends Sam Lufti and Alli Sims.
A source said: "Around 11pm they brought a small chocolate cake and sang 'Happy Birthday' to Britney.
"She looked slim and pretty. We really hope this birthday and her new age will be a turning point."
The 'Toxic' singer was given a generous collection of gifts at the party, including $30,000 worth of fur coats, a $10,000 diamond and gold ring, as well as $4,000 worth of Barito brand sunglasses and various T-shirts and hair products.
Britney began the evening looking elegant in a black mini-dress and white fake-fur jacket, with her new blonde hair extensions sleek and tidy.
But when she left the party to continue her celebrations elsewhere, the mother-of-two flashed her panties as she climbed into her car.
By 4am Britney looked dishevelled with her messy hair loosely tied on top of her head and her make-up smeared.
