Lindsay Lohan is so broke she has been asking friends for loans.
The 'Mean Girls' star - who has reportedly blown her entire $7 million fortune on drugs, alcohol and rehab - is said to be so desperate for cash she has resorted to begging close pals for money.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Lindsay has been openly asking her friends for handouts. She has nothing to spend."
A separate source added: "Lindsay has been unofficially promoting Ariva, by making sure she is photographed carrying the quit-smoking tobacco lozenge wherever she goes. They have officially denied she is their new spokesmodel, but they privately paid her a mid-five figure sum this week."
Lindsay's extravagant spending spree reportedly included $1 million on just one hotel bill.
She has also spent more than $137,000 on three separate stints in rehab battling her drug and alcohol addictions, and thousands more in legal fees for her DUI (driving under the influence) charge.
Lindsay is also thought to have blown more than $1 million on clothes and $500,000 on partying, with another $70,000 spent in tanning and hair salons.
She has been forced her to sell her $2.85 million Los Angeles apartment and her $1 million New York property because she couldn't afford the mortgage payments.
The 21-year-old actress is in such financial strife she allegedly tried to sell photographs of her family Thanksgiving dinner last year.

Ne-Yo and Compound Touring Incorporated sued Georgia-based Rowe Entertainment Incorporated on Monday in Superior Court. The lawsuit alleges breach of contract and violation of the right of publicity. It seeks unspecified damages.
Kelly wasn't named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
A statement on Rowe Entertainment's Web site says the lineup change came about because the company couldn't obtain a "final, fully executed contract" from Ne-Yo's agent.
The lawsuit claims Ne-Yo was fired from Kelly's "Double-Up Tour" after two shows.
A statement released by a representative of Kelly said it was the promoter's decision to drop Ne-Yo from the tour.

Britney Spears finally appeared yesterday for a deposition in her child-custody battle with Kevin Federline, her ex-husband's lawyer said. Spears was deposed for just 14 minutes, attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told reporters after the 26-year-old singer left. Paparazzi sprinted after Spears, who was wearing a hot pink dress and sunglasses, as she drove away from the Century City office tower in Los Angeles in a white Mercedes-Benz. Spears called in sick for a Dec. 12 court-ordered deposition but was photographed that day driving with a friend. She also didn't show up for a session Wednesday, Kaplan said. Spears and Federline, 29, have been wrangling over custody of their sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James.
Mmm, hell yeah she looks good there. Very nice cleavage.

It had to happen sooner or later. In news that surprises absolutely no one, Britney Spears has been hospitalized and is under psychiatric evaluation after a four-hour stand-off with the police for refusing to hand over her sons to Kevin Federline. Oh, how we wish we were making any of this up.
Around 8 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 3), police were called to Spears' home in Studio City, Calif., "about a custodial dispute regarding Britney Spears's children," LAPD officer Jason Lee said in a statement.
"While officers were on the scene, they observed Ms. Spears under the influence of an unknown substance," Lee added. "She is now being taken in for an evaluation, more than likely to a hospital. There were no reported injuries to anyone involved including the children."
People magazine reports Spears was supposed to hand over sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, to Kevin Federline's bodyguard at 7 p.m., but she locked herself in a room with her youngest son and refused to give him up. The court-appointed monitor called the police and Federline, his lawyer, and the cops were spotted arriving at the house an hour later.
"[The monitor] had already put Preston in the car when Britney locked herself in a room with Jayden," a source tells People. "The cops came and got through the door and tied her down to a gurney."
Soon, the singer's estate was crawling with police, fire trucks, two ambulances and a police helicopter. A disoriented-looking Spears was spotted being shuttled into an ambulance while strapped on a gurney (footage of which is conveniently flooding the Net this morning).
In the video, Spears is clearly seen laughing and talking to the ambulance attendants.
"They had to strap her down like a mental patient and she was going between laughing and hysterics," a source tells Us Weekly, calling it "a total psychotic breakdown. She just went crazy."
Federline and Spears' father, Jaime, were spotted at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where the singer is currently being held under a 72-hour mental lockdown. Federline took his sons home on Friday morning, reports People. According to TMZ, his lawyer, Mark Kaplan, will appear in court today to petition to strip Spears of her visitation rights.
