...she is keeping herself busy as she comes to terms with ex-boyfriend Heath Ledger’s death.
The 39-year-old actress bowed her head and seemed somber as she went for a morning run with a personal trainer.
Pursued by photographers, the Eastern Promises star ignored their questions and hid behind her fitness instructor to try and stop them getting a picture.
“Naomi did not look her usual self,” one onlooker said. “It’s clear that Heath’s death has hit her hard.
“She was wearing dark glasses and kept her head down. She wasn’t in the mood to be the centre of attention.
“She’s obviously trying to get on with her life, but she looks like she’s finding it a struggle.
Naomi, who dated Ledger between August 2002 and April 2004, spent around 20 minutes running with a personal trainer near her home in Brentwood, California.
Wearing red tracksuit bottoms, a grey hoodie and red baseball cap, the actress worked up a sweat in the leafy suburb of LA.
Later, she drove to pick up a friend and the pair headed to Santa Monica to shop for oriental rugs. “It seems like Naomi wants to keep busy and not spend too much time alone,” the onlooker said.
“But she has clearly decided that the best thing for her is to get on with her day to day life.”

The catwalk beauty - who started dating The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince last August - was seen picking up wedding brochures at the plush venue sparking rumours she plans to hold her nuptials there followed by a lavish reception in one of the many decadent ballrooms.
A source said: "Kate looked radiant when she came by to pick up the wedding brochures. She has the air of a woman who is loved and looked after."
