Britney Spears releases a music video on Wednesday that features the troubled singer as an animated superhero in a futuristic world.
The music video will premiere on Wednesday on dedicated Web site (www.BlackoutBall.com) at 6:30 p.m. EDT and accompanies her latest single "Break The Ice" -- the third from her 2007 album "Blackout."
The release of the video, along with an upcoming acting role on U.S. television comedy "How I Met Your Mother," marks something of a comeback for Spears, 26, whose career has been sidelined by psychiatric problems and months of bitter child custody battles.
Spears' Jive record company said the video was made in South Korea in Japanese anime style. Spears last year released two singles from the "Blackout" album which has sold more than 2 million copies worldwide but whose commercial success pales in comparison to the singer's heyday six years ago.

An American magazine has published what is believed to be the first photo of Patrick Swayze since news of his cancer broke – in which the actor is shown smoking a cigarette.
The National Enquirer has published this picture of the former ‘Ghost’ and ‘Dirty dancing’ star, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January.
The photos were taken on March 10, after Swayze left the Stanford Cancer Centre. The magazine reports Swayze has been a “three-pack-a-day smoker for years”, and states that smokers are twice as likely to get pancreatic cancer than non-smokers.
Swayze is currently undergoing chemotherapy, but is reportedly yet to suffer any side effects from the treatment.

Sienna Miller and Rhys Ifans are planning to marry on a private Mexican island, it has been claimed.
The 'G.I. Joe' actress - who reportedly accepted Rhys' proposal earlier this month - is said to have chosen the idyllic island of Isla Mujeres, located eight miles off the coast of Mexico's Cancun.
A source close to the couple said: "This is the perfect location for Sienna to have her big day. This particular resort is literally in the middle of nowhere, so it's perfect if you want a private ceremony.
"They fell in love with Mexico the first time they went there - so it makes sense for Sienna to choose it as a location for her big day."
Sienna, 26, and Rhys, 39, are expected to invite guests to stay in the resort, which includes a ten-bedroom villa, several guest houses and a boat ramp, and is owned by one of Sienna's friends.
Following the ceremony, guests will enjoy traditional Mexican food and tequila, which will be shipped in from the mainland due to the resort's remote location.

Keira Knightley has recorded three songs for her new film The Edge Of Love.
It’s the first time the British actress has used her singing voice for a movie soundtrack- she’s previously admitted it’s not her strong point.
Keira Knightley said: “I can't really sing I had to have a few lessons, but once I started doing it, a sound emerged that wasn't too disagreeable.”
The Edge Of Love is written by Knightley’s mother and is the story of Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. It also stars Sienna Miller and Cillian Murphy.
The movie is set for release in Autumn 2008. It looks unlikely Keira will launch a pop career alongside her film work- though we would love to see it!

Jamie Lynn Spears is reportedly struggling with her pregnancy weight gain. Sources say the 16-year-old has already gained 20 pounds and is “stressing out.”
“For a lot of women it’s not a big deal, but for a 16-year-old, it has stressed her out,” said the insider.
The ‘Zoey 101’ star is also having to cope with severe morning sickness. Her mother, Lynne Spears, has advised her to take ginger root but the remedy has not helped. “Lynne was having her take ginger root for a while, but it has not helped. Then her doctor had her take pills and she sucks on those pregi-pops,” said a source.

"Saturday Night Live" has swapped one R&B superstar for another -- Mariah Carey will replace Janet Jackson on the program this weekend.
Jackson called in sick after coming down with a bout of influenza at the beginning of the week.
Jackson's illness was so severe she checked into a Los Angeles hospital, suffering from shortness of breath.
But "SNL" bosses have now confirmed Carey will serve as the musical guest on Saturday's show, which will be guest hosted by Jonah Hill.
It's not the first time Carey has replaced Jackson -- Carey took a waitress role in the new film "Tennessee" when reported work commitments and film delays prompted Jackson to quit.
Despite her illness, representatives for Jackson insist the singer will be "fine."

Socialite Nicky Hilton has slammed reports she's suffering from an eating disorder.
The designer and hotel owner blames "unflattering" pictures taken of her for the new rumours.
Recent snaps of Hilton looking thin prompted speculation she is starving herself.
But, speaking at the launch of her fashion range in Los Angeles on Tuesday (11Mar08), Hilton insisted she is fine.
She says, "There's no truth to any starvation, eating disorders, rumours.
"I think the press has been printing a lot of pictures of me from unflattering angles. My friends see the pictures and they're like, 'Oh my god, are you OK?' And then they see me, and they're like 'Oh ... ' It's really not that interesting or true."

Singer-actress Katharine McPhee shares details in the new, spring issue of InStyle Weddings about the ceremony when she married producer Nick Cokas – and offers advice to other brides.
The American Idol season-five runner-up's tip: "Remember that it's your wedding … At the end of the day, it's really about the expression of commitment in love and marriage. So don't get too carried away. A wedding is about the commitment of love that you're making to your partner. It's that simple."
So is the look a bride should seek. "Sometimes you look at bridal magazines and you're like, 'What is that concoction? Why is her hair piled on top of her head?' You should look like yourself!"
And be yourself, especially on your honeymoon. Hers was in Hawaii, where she was determined to take up surfing, "I'm not much of a lay-on-the-beach kind of girl," says McPhee, 23. "I want to be in the ocean."

Jodie Foster as a Starbucks barista?? It’s a good thing the coffee chain didn’t hit the big time until the '90s or the Oscar-winning actress might’ve wasted her chops calling out orders for double-half-caff-triple-venti crappuccinos. In the new issue of Parade, the 45-year-old mother of two reveals that, despite her impressive career, she sometimes fantasizes about slinging coffee for a living or hitting the ski slopes all day.
Read on for interview excerpts in which Jodie reveals what it was like being a child star, why she’s never fallen in love and where it’s all going.
On being a child prodigy:
"Being a child prodigy is inherently lonely. I was one of them. You’re different from other kids. No one else can understand. There’s a longing to connect, a craving to say, ‘Here is the deepest part of me, the part that people don’t see.’"
On her long career:
"I’ve been working for 42 years. Sometimes I think, ‘What the hell are you doing? What’s the value of all this?’ I have fantasies about the things I might have done. I wish I’d been a ski bum or maybe had a job at a Starbucks in a ski place."
On why she hasn’t fallen in love yet:
"Oh, my life is basically from the head up. I’m definitely not proud of that. I’m very analytical."
On her childhood attitude toward acting:
"To me, acting didn't seem like much of a profession. My mom always said, 'By the time you're 16, your career will be over. So what do you want to do then?' She was correct. Most child actors' careers end early. They're lost."
On being a working mom:
"I’m still not sure where I’m going in my life. There are times when I don’t really know what I am here for. When I had my kids, I was burnt out on the film business again and wondering if this new identity as a parent was going to be fulfilling enough. I was forced to ask these really hard questions about myself: Is being a mother everything? Are you supposed to lose yourself in the process of being a mother?"
On her strained relationship with her mother:
"A parent’s love for her children is unconditional. I don’t think the reverse is true. In some ways, my mother’s life was given meaning through me. She didn’t have my opportunities. I had to take care of her, and that pretty much meant I had to wake up and go to work."
On being a child actor:
"People ask me if I missed anything by not having a normal childhood. The truth is, if I’d been an ambassador’s daughter or grown up on a farm in Missouri, I wouldn’t have had a normal childhood either. I had the only childhood I knew."
