Toni Braxton cancelled her Las Vegas show after being hospitalized overnight with chest pains.
According to the spokeswoman for the Flamingo Hotel, Deanna Pettit, where the singer has been performing, Braxton was expected to be released after precautionary tests.
The cause of the 40-year-olds chest pain was not immediately known however Pettit said Braxton, has been treated in the past for pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the heart.
The six-time Grammy winner for songs including 'Don't break My Heart' and 'Breathe Again' began a two-year run at the Flamingo in August 2006.
The Flamingo president, Don Marrandino said: "We wish Toni a quick recovery and would like her to take the time she needs to regain optimal health".
He added: "We are looking forward to her return at the end of the week."

Eva Longoria hosted a media launch at the Villa Magnum during a Magnum ice cream promotional day on the French Riviera in Cannes, France on Monday.
The ice cream brand is set to launch a $12 million ad campaign for a new flavor, with the Desperate Housewives actress appearing in the spot.
New Magnum ‘Mayan Mystica’ is inspired by the ancient origins of chocolate, the Mayan Indian culture, thought to be the birthplace of chocolate in 500 BC.
The new ad sees new Magnum girl Eva Longoria in a mystical Mayan temple as she unlocks the secret of pure ice cream indulgence and is sure to be another resounding commercial success.
Programs in which the 30-second ad spot will appear as part of the campaign include: Project Runway, Pushing Daisies, America’s Next Top Model, Hollyoaks and Grey’s Anatomy.
TV personality Rachael Ray showed us that she can do more than cook - she can bust out of a dress!

Under the one-year pact, the actress will star in a series project for the network, probably a drama.
Fox head of casting Marcia Shulman first spotted model-turned-actress Helfer on Sci Fi Channel's hit series, where she plays the beautiful but dangerous Cylon Number Six.
Last season, Fox cast Helfer in Jonathan Mostow's drama pilot "Them."
"After we saw the pilot, we were wowed by her," Shulman said.
Shulman then went to the Toronto International Film Festival, where she saw Canadian-born Helfer in the indie "Walk All Over Me."
"She was so incredible in it," Shulman said. "She had a pretty remarkable range, she showed vulnerability and strength. She is a star."
"Walk," in which Helfer stars opposite Leelee Sobieski, is being released in the U.S. by the Weinstein Co.
Helfer, who can be seen in the final season of "Galactica," is managed by Gilbertson Entertainment.

Beckham scored his first MLS goal and added an assist to lead Los Angeles to a 2-0 win in its season opener over San Jose on Thursday.
Beckham opened the scoring in the ninth minute after Landon Donovan pounced on a loose ball and slid a pass through the defense for him to run onto.
Current Earthquakes and former Galaxy goalie Joe Cannon stepped out to take away the shooting angle, but Beckham slotted it home through his legs for his first goal of the season and first regular season goal in an L.A. uniform.
"It's great to score a goal. I love scoring goals. I'm usually the other end assisting," Beckham said.
Beckham and Donovan teamed again in the 38th minute to provide the scoring punch. Beckham lofted a ball over the defense and Donovan raced onto it and lobbed the ball over Cannon to give the Galaxy their final margin of victory.
"Having played and trained together now, it's made it even easier. I know where he wants the ball and how he wants the ball, and he knows where I want it and how I want it," Donovan said.
Los Angeles (1-1-0) hosts Toronto FC on Sunday at 3 p.m. (ET).

The supermodel was released on bail after she was arrested at London's Heathrow airport following a dispute over her luggage, which was lost in the airport's recent Terminal 5 luggage fiasco.
Campbell allegedly spat at an officer and was handcuffed as she left the British Airways aircraft, which had yet to take off from Heathrow.
And now the airline has banned the 37-year-old from flying on British Airways planes, according to The Sun.
A source tells the publication, "The decision (to ban her) was not taken lightly. She is a valued customer. But it is unthinkable for BA to talk about the safety of staff and passengers being out priority, and then let her off."
But Campbell's spokeswoman is determined to have the ruling overturned, saying, "Naomi has been flying with BA for nearly 30 years and has been a good customer. She hopes this can be resolved amicably."

Renée Zellweger has admitted that she is not cut out to be a movie star.
The actress said she has to force herself to appear on chatshows while promoting her films.
She told The Independent: "I'm a terrible, terrible movie star. I'm not good at it. I can pretend to be but it takes a lot out of me. It's not my natural inclination to go, 'Oh good! Another talk show!'"
She also insisted that she is not impressed by the perks of the celebrity lifestyle, saying: "Spoilt rotten to me is sleeping on my best friend's couch because I love having private moments with people that are real - that's just how I'm made!"
The 38-year-old is currently promoting new film Leatherheads with George Clooney.

Tori Spelling may be eight months pregnant, but she's not afraid to rock a bikini.
She recently posed for photos while shooting her Oxygen reality show with husband Dean McDermott.
"So far I've gained 25 pounds and am loving my body!" Spelling, 34, told photo agency Startraks during the March 20 shoot in Beverly Hills. "I'm eating whatever my body tells me it needs and wants.
"I love my growing belly and the curves I'm taking on," she added.
Spelling, who is already mother to son Liam, 1, said the second time around is a breeze.
"During my first pregnancy with Liam, I spent a lot of time worried about my weight and how big I was getting and how I would lose it afterwards," she said. "But once I wasn't pregnant anymore, I missed it. I loved being pregnant!
"And now I know that it is possible to get back your body with diet and dedication," she said.
But Spelling — who's due in early summer — admitted being a pregnant mom and shooting a reality show isn't easy.
"It's been a hectic, yet amazing time in my life," she said.

George Clooney has spoken about his reading postings about himself on the Internet, describing some of the comments as "brutal".
According to the Daily Express, Clooney said: "A few years ago I went to check out this website that someone had talked about."
"There's like, a thousand people sitting in dark rooms thrashing you. Brutal. You're like: "Wow, dude"."
"You see way too many angry people. I remember thinking: "Never ever again". I'd rather live in my own happy world where I think everyone is nice," he said.

Lindsay Lohan's former bodyguard David Kim claims in a new lawsuit filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court that he's owed $55,000 from past work performed for the actress.
The money covers not only Kim's $4000-a-week rate but also the cost of damages to the plaintiff's borrowed car, which is alleged to have been wrecked after Lohan's driver made an illegal right turn to avoid the paparazzi.
Coincidentally, it was only two weeks ago that a judge ordered Lindsay's mom/manager Dina to pay $300,000 to another former bodyguard, Antonio Almeida, who was owed money he lent her to kick-start daughter Lindsay's music career.

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis are getting married on June 14, it has been reported.
The pair have been together for over 10 years and have two children, eight-year-old Lily-Rose and six-year-old Jack, but French singer Vanessa is now keen to tie the knot.
A source told MSNBC: "Johnny loves Vanessa very much, and he said if that’s what would make her happy, then he would marry her.”
Johnny previously admitted he was reluctant to get married because he adores Vanessa’s surname.

Hollywood sex symbol and human rights activist Angelina Jolie says educating Iraqi children should be given greater priority and not be ignored because of the war in the Middle East.
Speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations, Jolie, who visited Iraq in August, says displaced Iraqi children regain some sense of normalcy and stability through education and the world leaders need to focus on their upbringing.
"The best way to heal children of conflict from trauma is to have them focus on their future," Jolie told the gathering.
"Every child has a right to education and conflict is not a reason to ignore that."
