The wig Keira Knightley donned in new movie The Duchess was so heavy, she needed a special headrest to support her neck.
The 23-year-old plays an aristocrat in the forthcoming 18th-century drama and had to wear a heavy wig as part of her elaborate period costume.
And the hairpiece was so massive, the film crew created a custom resting post to take the weight off the slender star's shoulders.
Knightley's co-star Hayley Atwell recalls, "I loved filming The Duchess - Keira has a great sense of humour. She had to wear this huge wig that was so heavy they made her a board that she could lean her shoulders and head against in between takes so she didn't topple over or get neck aches."

Avril Lavigne’s video “Girlfriend” got a lot of hits on Youtube. Actually, it is one of the most watched videos on Youtube until now and now the pop star's manager says YouTube owes her $2 million for all the views.
The video, which blew past previous No. 1 clip "The Evolution of Dance" Thursday to become YouTube's most-viewed video ever, has been watched more than 92 million times, Avril’s fans have been banding together to inflate the play count artificially by using a constantly refreshing website that adds one pageview every 15 seconds to her music video.
A YouTube spokesperson made the following statement: “We have safeguards in place that limit the efficiency of this type of behavior, to make sure that advertising campaigns running on YouTube only reach legitimate viewers and are in no way affected by inflated view counts or gaming activities.”
James Blunt teamed up with fellow bachelor Gary Dourdan and a boat full of women for a cruise off the coast of the tiny Balearic Island of Formentera.

However, two experts testified and the court commissioner ordered changes characterized by Sheen's attorney as "nothing meaningful."

Miley Cyrus has launched a new charity in honor of her late grandfather - and is auctioning off a date with her to kickstart the fundraising.
The Pappy Cyrus Family Foundation is named after Cyrus' paternal grandfather Ron, who died in 2006, and aims to help deprived children across the U.S. by providing improved health care, education and community support.
And Cyrus has taken the first step to raise money for the organisation by giving fans the chance to accompany her to the premiere of her forthcoming film Bolt.
She is also auctioning off several items of clothing from her personal wardrobe.
The sale will begin on internet site eBay on Tuesday night with bidding closing on July 29th, according to Foxnews.com.

Miley Cyrus, 15, is reportedly set to bare all in a new movie.
The 'Hannah Montana' star - who caused controversy when she posed 'topless' for the cover of Vanity Fair magazine earlier this year - is said to be keen to be cast as the lead character in 'Undiscovered Gyrl', which is based on Allison Burnett's new novel.
According to website MSNBC, the movie will almost definitely include nude scenes.
A source said: "It is still early days, but Miley is really interested in the film, which follows the story of a lovable, lost suburban girl who descends into a life of reckless partying and promiscuity. If she does get the part, you will be seeing a lot more of her than you did in the Vanity Fair photos - there would definitely be nude scenes."
