Ethan Hawke and wife Ryan Shawhughes' daughter Clementine Jane Hawke was born last Friday (18.07.08).
The 'Training Day' actor and Ryan - who used to work as a nanny looking after Ethan's two children, 10-year-old Maya Ray and six-year-old Levon Roan, with ex-wife Uma Thurman - are "thrilled" with the new arrival, according to his agent Mara Buxbaum.
A close friend of the couple said: "I expect that they should be very good parents. They both love children, and they love each other - I know they are thrilled."
Ethan recently revealed he considers fatherhood to be the most important part of his life, adding: "Maya and Levon are the greatest pleasure in my life. It's the only role that, if I fail, I will consider my life a failure."

Eva Longoria Parker has withdrawn her name from contention for the 2008 American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Awards - because she wants acting newcomers to be recognised for their efforts.
The 33-year-old Desperate Housewives star joined former Dancing With The Stars contestant Cristian de la Fuente to announce the nominations for this year's ceremony at the Universal Studios Backlot in California on Monday (21Jul08).
And after revealing the new contenders, she admitted she had asked to have her own name removed from the running.
She says, "Everybody knows Desperate Housewives; let's recognise the people that you may not know on certain shows.
"I'm involved in the balloting and the selection process and the committee. So for me it was a conflict of interest."
The winners will be revealed at a ceremony hosted by Longoria Parker on 17 August (08) and will be aired on U.S. TV on 12 September.

Finally, Jennifer Aniston has come out on top.
According to Forbes, the 39-year-old actress earned more than Angelina Jolie in 2007.
Aniston raked in $27 million in 2007; Jolie, 33 - who just welcomed twins with Aniston's ex Brad Pitt – took in $14 million.
In terms of female earners, Cameron Diaz claimed the top spot with $50 million, Forbes reports.
Keira Knightley pulled in $32 million, beating out Aniston. Academy Award winners Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow each banked $25 million.
The men still made more than the women overall.
Will Smith earned a staggering $80 million; Johnny Depp netted $72 million, while Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers both took in $55 million. Leonardo DiCaprio banked $45 million.

Looking her usual fabulous self, Mariah Carey ventured out to MTV Studios in New York City on Tuesday for the taping of an appearance on the network’s hit show Total Request Live.
The 38-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer wore a multi-colored pastel skirt with a blue top that showed off her toned tummy, along with matching heels and, of course, plenty of bling.
Actress Amanda Peet now understands the great lengths that "X-Files" stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson go to in their roles as paranormal investigators - especially in their upcoming film "The X-Files: I Want To Believe."
Peet takes on the role of FBI Agent Dakota Whitney and appears alongside Fox Mulder(Duchovny) during a chilly investigation.
While in the bitter cold, the two discover a frozen bathing suit that smells of chlorine, which calls them into action in search of a nearby swimming pool.
In the scene, Peet dons a big winter hat that looks a lot like the one Frances McDormand wore in "Fargo."
"It was so freezing that I wanted to look really pretty and have, like, a pretty hat. And then I realized how freezing it was," she told Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith.
Like her co-stars Duchovny and Anderson, who have been mum about their possible on-screen romance, Peet is divulging few details about the film.
"What's under that hat you don't know," Peet said. "It's like a 'Twilight Zone' episode," as she motioned antennae on her head with her hands.
"That would be the universal symbol for aliens under Frances McDormand 'Fargo' hats!" Smith said.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the two photogs, Alexandre Passos, 35, and Eduardo Ravalha, 35, were arrested after an unidentified person called police around 4 p.m. on Monday to report that the men were loitering on city-owned property that has restricted public access and is blocked by a chain-link fence.
Police told the two to leave the area, but when officers returned nearly an hour later, the photographers were still there. An LAPD spokesperson said the photographers were "detained, questioned and eventually arrested," before being released a few hours later. Ravalha's Mercedes was impounded. Police may have been so quick to respond because they were called to the same spot two weeks ago on a similar report and noticed that signs warning trespassers to stay off the property had been removed.
The arrests Monday were part of an initiative by the LAPD to crack down on aggressive celebrity photographers. In February, four paparazzi were arrested by the LAPD on suspicion of reckless driving after they followed Spears on a street in the San Fernando Valley, and police alleged that at least one had tried to run the singer off the road.

Inside the issue, the British actress admits she was “frightened” about moving to America - because she was convinced she would be forced to undergo a full body makeover.
Says Kate, “I was very frightened of L.A. at first. I thought the first thing that would happen is they are going to file my teeth down, inflate my bosom and just be mean to me - and that’s sort of what has happened.”
So how paranoid is she? Kate had demanded a body double for her latest film Whiteout because she felt self-conscious about her bottom’s size. The slim 34-year-old star refused to bare her derriere while shooting a shower scene in the movie, which forced the film’s producers to hire a $2000 a-day model to stand in for her.
