The jury members in Britney Spears' ongoing driving license trial have been told to keep deliberating after telling a Van Nuys, California court judge they're deadlocked over whether the singer should be handed a criminal record.
The jury went home without reaching a unanimous verdict on Friday (17Oct07), and it appears the weekend hasn't helped.
After continuing their deliberations on Monday morning (20Oct08) the jury members asked for clarification on the charges against Spears and the foreman revealed they were deadlocked.
Britney Spears was arrested last year (07) for driving without a valid California state licence. She denies the charge.
The trial began last Thursday (16Oct08).

The couple has reportedly chosen South Korea because Heigl's older sister Meg was adopted from the country.
"Meg has had a profound impact on Katherine's life, which is why she and Josh are trying to adopt a Korean child," a source tells the National Enquirer. "They’ve chosen an adoption agency and have started filing the necessary paperwork. They haven’t gone public with the news yet because they want to make sure there are no problems before they make an announcement."

Gillian Anderson and her boyfriend Mark Griffiths have welcomed their second child together, her rep said Monday.
Son Felix Griffiths was born October 15 in London. He weighed in at 6 lbs., 15 0z.
The X-Files: I Want to Believe star, 40, and Griffiths are already parents to 1-year-old son Oscar. She also has a daughter, Piper, 13, from a prior marriage.

Engagement rumors swirled as the couple attended Hollywood events, and last month the New York Post's Page Six first spotted McGowan sporting a large diamond ring on her wedding finger.
McGowan previously was engaged to rocker Marilyn Manson. Rodriguez is divorced from producer Elizabeth Avellan, with whom he has five children.
A rep for McGowan declined to comment. Calls to Rodriguez's rep were not immediately returned.

Universal will produce a fourth installment in the popular "The Bourne Identity" franchise, according to Variety.
Damon will return as superspy Jason Bourne, and Paul Greengrass (who directed "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "The Bourne Supremacy") is also on board for the new film.
While the previous three "Bourne" movies have been based on the novels by Robert Ludlum, the latest chapter will be an original story.
George Nolfi, who co-wrote "The Bourne Ultimatum," will pen the new script.
Universal had planned on stopping after "Ultimatum," the third movie in the series, but decided to move forward with the fourth film after its predecessor grossed $227 million at the U.S. box office and $215 million overseas.
