Vanessa Hudgens has blasted reports that her boyfriend and co-star Zac Efron was attacked in London -- insisting the press had the story backwards, and it was she who was set upon by a middle-aged man.
The couple were in London last week for the UK premiere of High School Musical 3: Senior Year. And it was reported that a man in his 40s pushed through Efron's security team and tried to grab the star's hair.
But, according to Vanessa, she and Zac were leaving the Apollo Theater in London's West End when a man got stuck in front of their car, blocking the entrance.
She tells Access Hollywood, "I actually got hit in the face! If anything, I was the one who got attacked, not Zac.
"There was a guy who was walking down the street and I think he was a little drunk and he got pushed into the craziness of it all.
"He was blocking the door so our bodyguard had to push him aside."
She continues, "I looked in the mirror and got a huge scratch and I was bleeding."
And Efron, 20, insisted he wasn't aware of the commotion until he saw Hudgens' wound in their car.
He said, "I just heard about it. I was just focused on [the] van door – I've gotta get to it. I got in the van and we drove away… I don't remember getting harassed."

The divorced Yankees slugger is looking to buy a pad two blocks away from the divorcing singer - intensifying speculation that he's eager to replace husband Guy Ritchie in her life.
"Alex is moving closer to Madonna," a longtime A-Rod pal told the Daily News. "I wouldn't say they are an item, but he has a strong attraction to her."
Another Rodriguez pal confirmed he's been "looking aggressively" at 15 Central Park West, the much-hyped Robert A.M. Stern building where his neighbors would include Sting and wife Trudie Styler, who introduced Madonna to Ritchie in 1998.
One report had Rodriguez close to buying the $80 million four-bedroom, 5,200-square-foot penthouse there. Insiders told The News he was scoping out several cheaper condos. Real estate records show no four-bedroom apartments have recently gone to contract or closed in the building.
Madonna lives at 41 Central Park West, where she combined two apartments into one stunning triplex for her family.

But she reveals the celebrities are still seething about being made fun of in the promo.
She says, "Paris Hilton is still bugging me about 'Stupid Girls.' She came up to me in a nightclub a couple of months back and she said, 'I hope you realize that the person I seem to be in the press is really just an act and the real me is really smart.'
"I said, 'Just get over it. The song was like years ago. Quit bugging me.'
"I still take a pop at Jessica Simpson in my new video. That girl hates me. But it's just that her name happens to be a good rhyme fit for lots of lyrics. ..."
However, Pink admits she has mixed feelings about the stars, because while she hates their "fake" personas, she is fascinated by how well they deal with life in the spotlight.
She adds, "Those girls are something else. There's part of me that thinks they're such losers, but there's also a part of me that admires how they actually play the game. I'm so bad at playing the Hollywood game. I just hate all that fake stuff."

A computer hacker who posted racy photos of Disney starlet Miley Cyrus on the Internet has been caught by the FBI.
According to a source, 19-year-old hacker Josh Holly, bragged about obtaining the photos from an email account of the 15-year-old star of Disney's 'Hannah Montana'.
He gave interviews to bloggers, boasting that he moved so often, authorities would never catch him.
However Holly since revealed that the FBI has found him, seizing three computers and a phone from his home in Tennessee. He was not arrested or charged.
Speaking to Wired.com, Holly spoke about the raid: "I was just kind of shaking. I was thrown way off guard. I guess somebody ended up ratting me out."
An embarrassed Cyrus, whose clean image has been managed by Disney, publicly apologized for what she said were: "silly, inappropriate shots."

Brooke Burke had to be rushed to the hospital after hurting her foot while getting ready for Dancing With The Stars.
She was busy getting ready to take on the jitterbug with partner Derek Hough on Sunday.
She had to make an emergency trip to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center due to the injury to her foot.
The 37-year old mother of four landed hard on her right foot after doing a front flip.
Her foot immediately swelled up, as she tried to put ice on it to keep swelling down.
She had to go to the hospital on Monday morning to find that she had a severe bruise.
This is not the first Dancing With The Stars injury, as Misty May Treanor had to leave the competition a few weeks ago.

The socialite's American football star lover was recovering from surgery on his knee at an Alabama medical centre after he was injured during the New Orleans Saints' game on Sunday (19Oct08) against the North Carolina Panthers.
The couple had been due to take a romantic trip to London to celebrate Kardashian's birthday on 21 October (08). However, the pair was forced to cancel the holiday and spend the day at the medical facility instead - but Kardashian got in to the spirit of the event by donning a hospital gown.
She writes on her official website, "I was supposed to be in London right now with Reggie but we had to cancel our trip. When I saw him limp off the field my heart dropped! All that has mattered is that Reggie is going to be okay! And he is okay!
"He's pretty bummed that the special birthday he planned in London couldn't happen, but as long as he is okay, I will have the best birthday ever!!!!"

Alyson Hannigan announced she is pregnant and expecting a child in the spring, according to People magazine.
The 34-year-old actress and her 42-year-old husband, Alexis Denisof, met on the set of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” during the 1999-2000 season. The couple was married at the Two Bunch Palms Resort near Palm Springs, Calif., on Oct. 11, 2003.
Hannigan’s rep did not release the gender of the baby. This will be the first child for the couple.
