Reality television star Paris Hilton and her rocker boyfriend Benji Madden have split up after dating for nine months.
According to People magazine, Hilton's representative confirmed the news, saying that the star was "saddened" by the split.
Hilton's spokesperson said: "She is saddened by the breakup but they're just too different and they wanted different things in life."
A source close to Hilton reportedly told the magazine: "He was loyal and sweet but it was time to take a break."

Victoria Beckham will spend two months in one of the world's fashion capitals - the designer will accompany her soccer ace husband David Beckham to Europe as he trains with a team in Milan, Italy.
The England midfielder will head to professional club A.C. Milan on loan from U.S. team Los Angeles Galaxy in January (09) in a bid to stay on top form.
And now Victoria has confirmed that she and their three sons - Brooklyn, nine, Romeo, six, and three year old Cruz - will also journey to Italy.
She says, "It will literally be for two months because the season finishes here in L.A. and David will go to train with A.C. Milan.
"We are so supportive, myself and the children. It's a great opportunity for him and we are very excited about spending time in Milan."
And the former Spice Girl is convinced her fashionable surroundings will have an influence on her designs.
She adds: "Obviously I will be very busy as well because I will be preparing to show my next collection in February in New York.
"I have so many friends there and my experience of Italy is great. The best thing you can give a designer is the ability to travel and experience different cultures, countries, and so for me, it's huge."

Carmen Electra is all set to host a lingerie fashion show at Enclave nightclub in Chicago on Saturday, November 22. The show will feature sexy intimate apparel from Isabella Fine Lingerie.
Electra's fiancé Rob Patterson from KoRn will be deejaying at the multi-level, 15,000 square-foot Enclave Nightclub on Saturday's event. The night club is famous for hosting weekly events featuring Chicago's hottest DJs along with celebrity appearances and concerts.
The 20-year-old singer, Rihanna was snapped looking stunning in New York Wednesday at the launch of Gucci's Tattoo Heart Collection.

So her new collaboration with Gucci is a deal made in sartorial heaven. She's the face of the luxe Italian brand's Tattoo Heart accessory collection. Twenty-five percent of sales from the line will be donated to UNICEF.
The collection, on sale through Jan. 31, was kicked off with a glitzy launch party at Gucci's flagship store Wednesday night. During a joint interview at the Plaza Hotel before the bash, Gucci creative director Frida Giannini said selecting the chart-topping and fashion-forward songstress to front the do-gooder line was a no-brainer.

The “24” blonde bombshell looked cute and conservative in a black jacket/skirt combo teamed with a pair of black high-heeled boots as she laughed in between takes.
Cuthbert was joined by Allen and Elfman (driving a classic convertible) who were filming a scene in which Jenna was throwing a bunch of things at Tim, including a sexy blue bra.

Mara Buxbaum said the 37-year-old was taken to a west London hospital Wednesday "as a precaution" and had since been released.
"She's fine now," Buxbaum said. She declined to go into details of Ryder's illness.
British Airways said a flight from Los Angeles to Heathrow requested priority landing after a female passenger "required medical attention" and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
"Our cabin crew looked after the female passenger as much as they could onboard and our passenger services staff also accompanied her to the local hospital," the statement said. "We wish her well."

Miley Cyrus says she isn't surprised that she was involved in an Internet death hoax the other day.
She's heard those rumors before.
"What happened? Did I die, like, bungee jumping, getting bulldozed, what happened this time?" Cyrus told E!'s Daily 10.
But she says can't believe someone hacked into her YouTube account and posted a fake video from her pal Mandy Jiroux alleging that she'd been killed by a drunken driver.
"I got hit by a drunk driver!" Cyrus exclaimed. "Ok, good. Wait. What? On my Web page? No. My Web page got hacked?"
Then, looking at E!'s Michael Yo, she sarcastically joked, "You're the bearer of good news. Thank you."
She said she's "ticked" at the person who did this.
Cyrus seethed, "I'm gonna, like, smack 'em!"
On theEllen DeGeneres Show (airing Thursday) Cyrus proves again that she hasn't passed away.
"I'm breathing, check my pulse," she said. "I'm good."
She says most of the rumors about her "are kind of weird and some of them are kind of funny, some of them are just really random.
