Heidi Klum shocked Jay Leno and American television viewers by pulling out a bag of her own teeth and dumping them on the talk show host's desk.
The German model told Leno, on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, that she kept every tooth she had lost since her childhood in a pouch which she keeps on her at all times.
Klum, who is married to musician Seal, admitted it was a "crazy" thing to do.
"I carry around a little bag of my teeth," she said.
"We don't have a tooth fairy (in Germany), so I put them in a little bag. Little ones, big ones. Those were like, wisdom ones.
"I don't know if it's good luck, it's just a crazy thing that I do."
An astonished Leno said: "Any fantasy I had is pretty much over now."
Klum said her bag of teeth landed her in trouble with border patrol, who feared the pouch contained drugs.

Known casually as Ping-Pong, celebs ranging from Susan Sarandon to Ed Norton have admitted their allegiance to the game. It hasn't been so in fashion since "Forrest Gump" in 1994.
"I started finding out that there was this subculture of Ping-Pong and all these people that you wouldn’t expect are serious about it," Susan told the New York Times' Style section. "I just worked with Ed Norton, and he's so committed that he trained in China while he was shooting a film there."
Part of the appeal of the game, Susan said, is its quickness — a nice break from long days on the set.
"The matches aren't that long, so they get very emotional very fast and then they're over," she explained. "You can come and go as you please and still feel satisfied."

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon shakes hands with actress and U.N. Goodwill Ambassador Nicole Kidman, of Australia, during an event announcing the results of UNIFEM's "Say No to Violence against Women" campaign at United Nations headquarters in New York.
Kidman, a UN Goodwill Ambassador, announced more than five million world leaders and citizens across the globe signed a petition promoting the issue, more than five times as many signatures expected.
"The reason I chose the subject of women is because I was raised by a mother who was very passionate about having her daughters educated, and wanted her daughters to have an equal opportunity," Kidman said at the UN headquarters in New York.
"I was the product of that, and now I'm out there hoping to pass on to the next generation and work in a greater capacity then just as an actress."
One in three women and girls are victims of abuse and the campaign calls for greater protection for women, the prosecution of abusers and increased efforts to end "attitudes and behaviour that condone, tolerate, excuse or ignore violence committed against women".

Despite reports this weekend that the Pirates of the Caribbean star had gotten engaged to his supermodel girlfriend Miranda Kerr, E! News has learned it is not true.
According to Australia's Sunday Telegraph, Miranda Kerr revealed that she had gotten engaged and that she and Orlando Bloom were vacationing in Venice, Italy last week to celebrate the news, but her rep says that is incorrect.
"The story published in the Australian Sunday Telegraph suggesting Miranda exclusively revealed she is getting married is completely false and misleading," says her rep. "Miranda herself has clearly stated she is not engaged. There is nothing else to be said."
The famous couple has been dating since October 2007
