South African Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron is one of a number of stars interested in playing the lead role in the film adaptation of Atlas Shrugged, the best selling novel from the late novelist, screenwriter and philosophist, Ayn Rand (The Fountainhead).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, other actresses vying for the role are Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts and Anne Hathaway.

Degeneres dropped ice into the glass and joked,"It smells good, what's in it.? It's pretty much natural, right?".
The Oscar-winner was first left speechless, telling Degeneres, "I don't think we're supposed to drink it, Ellen."
Ellen also asked Halle dance on her show Tuesday: "Don't you think you should have your own dance to the Halle Berry song?"

The first pictures of Madonna with soon-to-be daughter Mercy has emerged.
The queen of pop was snapped strolling along with daughter Lourdes, who gripped tightly on to her new sister Mercy - also known as Chifundo - as they made their way to the orphanage in Malawi where the four-year-old lives.
Madonna spent over an hour at Malawi's High Court on Monday where she pleaded her case as “a deeply loving mother” to Judge Esme Chombo.
In adoption papers seen by The Sun, Madonna says: “To deny Chifundo the opportunity to be adopted by me could expose her to hardship and emotional trauma which is otherwise avoidable.”
According to sources, the singer not only threw a luxury dinner at her private lodge on Monday to celebrate a successful hearing, but she reportedly told staff in New York to set up her home in preparation for their return this Saturday.
Mercy's adoption still hasn't been officially finalised but Madonna is hoping to take home her new daughter after a ruling on Friday April 3.
