Taylor Swift has donated her prom dress to charity. The country singer gave away her long cream and gold Jessica McClintock gown, to Hearst Magazines' DonateMyDress.org.
DonateMyDress.org is a national network that brings together local dress drive organizations to help girls get their dream dresses for their big night.
"I chose to give away this prom dress because I wore it once and loved it!" Contactmusic quoted "The Love Story" singer as saying.
"I want another girl somewhere to feel good in it and have a great prom night because of this dress," she added.
Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Nikki Blonsky, Eva Amurri and Ashley Greene also donated their dresses to be auctioned off.
Swift's gown fetched a whopping $1,200 at the charity auction. The artist is all set to launch her first national headlining tour on April 23 in Evansville, Ind.

Actress Vanessa Hudgens has a warning for any potential muggers and robbers - go near her and she'll blast you with her taser gun.
The 20-year-old has just splashed out on a new Hollywood home and admits she feels vulnerable living on her own - so she's invested in a gun that will zap bad guys with a painful blast of electricity.
Hudgens tells Us Weekly magazine, "I keep a taser in my purse for self-defence. I'm moving into a house by myself and it's scary."

Nightclubs come and go, but some become legendary.
In what many consider one of the world's most premier partying destinations, Opium nightclub set the precedent for Miami's South Beach.
In December, Opium closed its doors with sites set on a new destination, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL.
The Opium group, whose nightclubs also include the infamous Mansion in South Beach, decided to move their flagship nightclub to what has become South Florida's biggest and most exclusive clubgoing experience.
"With the amenities and sheer volume of (partygoers), it only made sense for the Opium Group to get involved with the Hard Rock," said club promoter Lelo Sanchez.
Kim Kardashian and boyfriend Reggie Bush hosted the grand opening of Opium nightclub Saturday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL.

Britney Spears had a heartfelt message for her fans on her recent Circus tour stop in Vancouver, Canada. Brit told the crowd, ‘Don’t smoke weed’.
Unfortunately, Spears only wanted her fans to stop smoking at her concert.
Apparently, the “Give Me More” songstress stormed off stage due to excessive marijuana smoke in the arena.
Spears, 27, had only performed three songs before leaving the stage for over 40 minutes.
“We were concerned for the lighting guys and everyone else working on the show,” said a source.
Concertgoers were then told the show would not continue if people continued to smoke marijuana and cigarettes; deeming it “unsafe” for Britney and her dancers.
Britney then returned to the stage. Once the show was over, the “Womanizer” singer told the audience, “Thanks Vancouver. You were wonderful. Drive safe. Don’t smoke weed!” (What happened to “Goodnight”?)
A representative for Britney later released a statement saying, "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have been irritating the hell out of us lately by Twittering about their love. But putting just a bit of a damper on all the cyber mushiness is the news that Pete Wentz spent the other night partying with strippers, while Ashlee Simpson was at home with their baby son Bronx.
According to Star, Pete Wentz was recently caught getting his party on in Vegas with a whole bunch of strippers, band members, and friends.
A source that was at the party scene told "Star," "Everybody was going absolutely crazy. People were even drunkenly playing makeshift Slip 'n' Slide with a mat and lubricant. And Pete was in great spirits. He was dancing and singing along to his band's own songs, grinding up against the dancers."
The source continued by adding that Pete was "dancing on a pool table with the girls" at one point.
Earlier the same day, Ashlee Simpson had twittered to Pete, "I am beyond sad to leave my love... My heart is breaking as we drive home." She also added, "I need my hubs."
So far, two photos have surfaced on the web in which Pete Wentz does indeed seem to be having a pretty excellent time dancing with the scantily-clad ladies.

Budding fitness guru Kim Kardashian has released behind-the-scenes photos from her workout DVD series, Fit In Your Jeans by Friday, on her official Web site.
"I had so much fun throughout the whole process of training and filming my DVD series," Kardashian writes of the project, which combines fitness with fashion-consciousness. "I wanted to share these behind-the-scenes photos with you guys! This is one of the most exciting projects I've done to date. Not only did I get to make my own workout DVDs, I also got really fit in the process, and I feel so motivated to keep on going!"

Lindsay Lohan was seen Wednesday night getting herself a new tattoo after news broke earlier this week that she and her DJ girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, broke up.
The actress was seen smiling when she arrived at the Shamrock Social Club tattoo parlor in Los Angeles at around midnight. Her teenage sister, Ali, was by her side. It's the same tattoo parlor where Lohan and her pal, Lily Allen, got "Shhhh" finger tattoos, according to UsMagazine.com.
The site also reported that Lohan got the new ink on her wrist. There's no word on what Lohan got tattooed, but the pair reportedly left at around 3 a.m. In addition to the ink, Lohan was also seen on at Byron & Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills dying her hair back to red.
Before she made her way over to the tattoo parlor, Lohan, Ali and their mom Dina were seen dining at Nobu. Sources tell the magazine that the "wafer-thin" Lohan appeared "stressed out and anxious but didn't drink any alcohol, instead opting for a few edamame and bites of a cucumber salad."
Sources added that before the Lohans left, "The Hills" star Frankie Delgado, who recently denied he was flirting with Rihanna, was seen flirting with Lohan, but she "seemed uninterested as Delgado attempted to give her an awkward smooch on the cheek. He ended up kissing her hair instead."

Mischa Barton is baring it all for Cosmo.
Nearly a year after enduring criticism about her sudden weight gain-turned-weight loss, Barton stripped down for the May cover of U.K. Cosmopolitan magazine.
Barton, best known for her role as Marissa on the hit teen drama "The O.C.," faced jeers last year after photos of the once-waify actress surfaced, exposing some cellulite on her thighs.
"Surely there are more important issues than if someone has cellulite?" she said. "And I don't understand the point of people looking for bad things. Why bother? I know it's human nature to want to pick on other people, but I find it a little shallow."
The starlet reportedly went from a sumptuous size 12 to a size 6 or 8 in less than a year. Barton said all it took was a healthy dose of post-breakup confidence, after splitting from boyfriend, Rooney guitarist Taylor Locke.
"The only way to be happy and be a more enjoyable person to be around is to embrace what you've got. Everyone has issues about their body, but I feel confident now. I'm healthy and happy," she said.
Happy as she is, Barton insists that she, like all women, is not without her flaws.
"I think people see celebs as having these perfect lives," she said. "But that's not true."
"Instead, what counts is that the people in your life – your family and friends – think you're a nice person."

Added to that, the company also faces a legal showdown with Italian vintners over the use of the name "Prosecco".
However Austrian owner Guenther Aloys refuses to blame Paris’ endorsement of the drink for its poor performance in the marketplace.
He said: "She is the perfect advert for our product.
"We have several new campaigns that are already being planned."
