After three months of dating, country singer Taylor Swift and New Moon star Taylor Lautner have split!
It wasn't really developing into anything, and wasn't going to, so they decided they were better as friends," a source close to Swift, 20, tells Us. "There was no chemistry."
The pair who met on the set of the romantic comedy Valentine's Day first sparked rumors of a romance when she hugged him at her October 9 concert in Rosemont, Illinois. They have since been spotted on several wholesome dates -- like their frozen yogurt date at Menchie's alongside Swift's mom earlier this month and have each coyly alluded to their relationship on separate Saturday Night Live hosting gigs.
However, the relationship officially fizzled when Lautner, 17, flew to Nashville for Swift's birthday party on Dec. 13, a friend of the singer reveals.
"He liked her more than she liked him," the source tells Us. "He went everywhere he could to see her, but she didn't travel much to see him."
Lucky for Lautner, the split won't inspire angry songs like those written about ex Joe Jonas who dumped Swift during a 27-second phone call in 2008.
"They plan to stay friends," the source says.
In fact, Swift whose friend says she is a "hopeless romantic" who "wants everything she writes about" in her songs will likely reunite with the Twilight hunk when they begin promoting Valentine's Day, out Feb. 12.

A source told the website that Ritchie thinks Pitt is one of the most underrated actors in the industry today, and he would love to work with him again. Since everyone thinks of the actor as a pretty boy, he can't wait to make him a supervillain.
Pitt starred in Ritchie's 2000 crime film "Snatch" as a Irish gypsy fighter who has an accent so thick that even Brits can't understand him.

The 17-year-old actress dished on everything style, inspiration and shopping with Demi Lovato. Check it:
On where she gets her style inspiration: “It’s only in the last year that I’ve started to find my own style. I love the classic chic from the 1940s era. I get inspiration from all kinds of places, like movies I watch, pictures I find online – but I always go back to that period. I think I was born in the wrong time! My friends say that I dress like a 30-year-old woman, as they’re all into skater-chick things!”
On shopping with BFF Demi: “Me and Demi go clothes shopping all the time. In fact, we probably have the same wardrobes as each other, as we’ll get the same thing in a different color! I also have half her clothes in my closet from borrowing them, and vice-versa. I love shopping and she’s probably my favorite shopping buddy, as she knows exactly what I like.”
On going without make up for a day: “I love putting on make-up and trying different looks every morning, but there are days when it’s nice to go natural. It doesn’t bother me if I get photographed on a no-make-up day, as it proves to my fans that I don’t always look perfect. Trust me!”
