The actress, who plays Meredith Grey, explained that she is considering leaving the show when her contract expires at the end of the eighth season.
"I haven't said that I'm moving on," she told Extra. "I've said that when my contract is up after season eight [in two years] I would probably not renew."
She continued: "I think I've told all the stories that I can tell as Meredith Grey. I mean, who knows. I never say never to anything. But I've told a lot of Meredith Grey stories and I think the world has had a lot of Meredith Grey. So I don't know how much more of Meredith Grey the world wants."
