Justin Bieber Teams With Step Up Director

Step Up 3D director Jon M. Chu and the Magical Elves producing team of Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth have joined together to direct and produce Justin Bieber's concert film. The trio will work with Bieber's manager Scooter Braun, Island Def Jam chairman LA Reid and Grammy winning singer Usher to give Bieber fans a behind-the-scenes look into the 16-year old pop star’s life.

In addition to the last two Step Up movies, Chu also directed the Hulu web-series The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers. Magical Elves is best known for its successful reality shows. The duo used to produce Project Runway when it aired on Bravo and currently produce Top Chef and Work of Art, among others.

Paramount Pictures will release the Justin Bieber movie on Valentine’s Day weekend 2011.
