After 17 years of marriage, Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from wife Tish in Tennessee on Tuesday, UsMagazine.com has confirmed.
"As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family," they tell Us in a joint statement. "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."
In the divorce complaint acquired by Us -- filed in Williamson Country Chancery Court -- singer Billy Ray, 49, is listed as the plaintiff, citing "irreconcilable differences."
Billy Ray, and Tish, 43, have three kids togethe: pop star Miley, 17, Braison, 16, and Noah, 10; Billy Ray also adopted Trace and Brandi, Tish's children from a previous relationship.
In the papers, Billy Ray asks for shared custody of their three minor kids, and for an equitable division of their marital assets.

The 30 year old Munn first met Timberlake at a MySpace affair on September 26 and that they ended up in Munn's Hotel at the Gansevoort Park Avenue in New York City. According to the source of the magazine, both were openly affectionate.
The representative for Munn prefers not to comment on the personal life of the actress while Timberlake’s spokesperson is denying such claims.

Rihanna told MTV: ”I think it was really special to have behind-the-scenes photos, you know, pictures that the fans haven’t seen before, all together of a very specific moment of my life, and album of my life. They just get to see all the things that they hadn’t seen that were going on behind the scenes; really cool stuff, not typical. They’re really fun photos. It was said that the rehabbing starlet could be facing a bill from the facility anywhere between $50,000 and $150,000. She is said to be completely broke and worried about where the money is going to come from.
A porn company by the name of Tube8.com has the answer. They want to hire Lindsay for their marketing department and give her a paycheck of $50,000. Tube8.com said they want Lindsay to provide "insights into the further mainstreaming of pornography."
