When Billy Ray learned about the fling, he filed for divorce Oct. 27, sources tell Us Weekly.
Michaels, 47, reportedly "became close to the entire family" this past February when he and Miley released the racy duet "Nothing to Lose," an insider says.
Soon after, he and Tish, 43, began a down-low romance.
"Billy Ray was completely unaware of what was going on," the source says.
But Tish is heatedly denying the report and hoping to put her marriage back together.
A rep for the Poison singer has also denied the allegation, saying "there has never been an affair or a fling."

Shakira has just signed a deal with Nickelodeon Consumer Products and Simon & Schuster to write her first Dora the Explorer book. Kudos to the singer for her interest in children’s literacy. Shakira is also going to get to feature an animated version of herself inside the book. Not a bad use of cross-promotion. Shakira won’t be the first musician to go animated. Several decades ago it was a norm for musicians like the Jackson 5 and MC Hammer to have their own Animated series. Although they may have been bombs, they still caught fans attention.
“I’m a big fan of Dora because she inspires kids all over the world,” said Shakira. “It was such an honor working with Nickelodeon to write this story with its message of helping others and education, which is very close to my heart.”
“World School Day Adventure” follows Dora, Boots and Shakira as they celebrate ‘World School Day’ with students from all corners of the earth. When some schools are missing supplies, it’s up to Dora and Boots to make some very special deliveries. This will be the first-ever jacketed hardcover Dora the Explorer storybook, in celebration of Dora’s 10th Anniversary.
“Working with Simon & Schuster and Shakira to create this enriching and educational story was a remarkable experience,” said Paula Allen, Senior Vice President, Global Publishing, NCP. “This is Nickelodeon’s take on a timeless classic children’s book.
