Actor Ashton Kutcher is to play Steve Jobs in a biopic about the late Apple co-founder, according to Variety.
Jobs, the former chief executive of and driving force behind the US technology giant, died last October aged 56.
Production on Jobs, the film, will begin in May and follow his progression from "wayward hippie" to "revered creative entrepreneur".
Joshua Michael Stern, best known for his 2008 film Swing Vote, will direct from a script by Matt Whiteley.

Ashton Kutcher hit his very first red carpet since wife Demi Moore announced their split in late November at premiere of New Year's Eve at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
And though 33-year-old dodged press interviews, he was sure to put on a brave -- and flirty! -- face for the cameras, posing on the carpet with Lea Michele, his love interest in the ensemble romantic comedy.
Demi Moore shows off her toned tummy in a bikini while soaking up the sun with husband Ashton Kutcher in St. Barts.
The 48-year-old actress relaxed and had lunch on a yacht, while Ashton, 32, smoked a cigarette.

"Thank you for all the anniversary wishes!!" Demi tweeted on Friday. "Enjoying a day lounging around watching "Breaking Bad" Great show!"

A 21-year-old girl is quoted as saying that she "made love on his living room couch while Demi was out of town."
In a statement, Kutcher's lawyer, Marty Singer, tells UsMagazine.com: "Star Magazine continuously publishes lies about Ashton Kutcher and many other celebrities. This is not the first, nor will it be the last time they engage in reckless conduct."
It is the second story Star has run alleging Kutcher, 32, had an affair. Another article this month claimed he had a fling with "a sexy, young, 20-something."
Kutcher quickly took to Twitter to refute that report.
"I think Star magazine calling me a 'cheater' qualifies as defamation of character. I hope my lawyer agrees," he wrote. "STAR magazine - you don't get to stand behind 'freedom of the press' when you are writing fiction."

Concertgoers at a Snoop Dogg show Friday in Las Vegas got an A-list surprise when Moore joined the rapper on stage to show off her sultry dance moves.
In a 35-second clip, the actress drops it like it's hot in a sexy, backless minidress, while Snoop performs his 2003 hit "Beautiful." But, soon, the former Striptease star lures mighty hunky company on stage: hubby Ashton Kutcher.
"Come on, Ashton. Break it down, baby," Snoop Dogg says. "Do what you do!" – Janet Mock.

Spears is currently sporting 4,938,037 followers, a mere five hundred or so more than Kutcher, who had – until today – been the service’s most popular user in terms of followers going back to last year when he became the first Twitter user to reach the one million mark. The milestone appears to be lost on Britney, however, as she hasn’t tweeted in the past three days. Perhaps someone should let her know she’s in the lead.
At this point, however, it’s possible that either Britney Spears or Ashton Kutcher could be the first to reach five million followers, which at this point should happen quite soon.

Here's Demi Moore and husband Ashton Kutcher helping to feed the orphan elephants in Kenya.
The actress shared with her Twitter followers pictures of the pair getting up close to the African wildlife during a trip to the Samburu National Reserve.
"All I can say is WOW! These orphan elephants are amazing," she tweeted.
During their African visit, Ashton revealed he mucked in with the day-to-day life of the local people.
"Spent the day digging a well and watering goats with the warriors and bead girls of the Samburu. Humbling experience," he wrote on his Twitter page.
