Lindsay Lohan is to replace Britney Spears as the host of a big gala event in Los Angeles next week, according to reports.
Spears was asked to host a Scandinavian Style Mansion ball by Danish businessman Claus Hjelmbak but he rescinded the invitation last month when the star was admitted to hospital.
Explaining his decision Hjelmbak said: "I personally feel that the most important thing for her now is to focus on her health and get the help she needs and deserves."
Spears celebrated her 26th birthday at a Scandinavian Style Mansion event in December.

Britney Spears has been warned by advisors that she could be broke in four years if she continues to fritter her money away, the Daily Star reports.
The 26-year-old, once worth $100 million, has lost more than half her fortune after frivolous spending over the last few years.
Britney's family held crisis talks with the star over the weekend, in a bid to help her curb her shopping sprees as court papers confirmed the singer's fortune at just $40 million.
A business associate said, "There was a moment when her mother said she could be out of money within four years, and her children will still be at primary school."
"That was when she really sat up and took notice."
Britney reportedly pays $20,000-a-month in alimony to Kevin Federline as well as $15,000 in child support.

Britney Spears has dumped her photographer lover after finding racy text messages from other women on his phone.
The 26-year-old singer became convinced Adnan Ghalib had cheated on her when she discovered the series of raunchy texts and threw the snapper's $600 iPhone into her pool at her Hollywood Hills home before ordering him to leave.
A source said: "There were about a dozen text messages from one girl, all sent on one day. They were pretty saucy stuff with sexual references - certainly not the sort you'd send to just a friend.
"Britney lost it and started yelling. She was demanding to know who sent the texts and shouting, 'What's this about? You're cheating on me.' "
Britney decided to confront Adnan after two video clips showing him out with two women, one of which he was seen briefly holding hands with, were posted on the internet.
The source added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Adnan said the girl was just a friend but Britney got more and more angry. Then she told him, 'That's it. It's over.'
"Just before she told Adnan to go, she took the phone and threw it in the pool. He didn't bother trying to get it out."

Heidi Klum is the latest celebrity to offer troubled Britney Spears a place to recuperate away from the paparazzi. The German presenter of U.S. TV show Project Runway, who lives nearby Spears in Beverly Hills, California with her three children and husband Seal, believes the singer needs to spend some time hidden away from the media.
Heidi Klum says,
"She can call me and come live in our house with us for a couple of months. I would help set her straight. "I am sorry when a young person gets thrown so off track. She has, of course, lived an extremely wild life."
In recent weeks, Queen Latifah, Steve Irwin widow Teri and Sylvester Stallone ex-wife Brigitte Nielsen have come forward to offer Spears a private retreat.

After shaking the paparazzi off her tail with a false report that she was in New York, the singer then surfaced in Rosarito Beach where she was spotted crusing around in her Cadillac Escalade with Ghalib.
But Star magazine claims there was more to the impromptu trip south of border than Brit's normal erratic behaviour.
Star editor Candace Trunzo tells Gatecrasher: "Our source on this was not in Rosarito Beach at the ceremony, but is very familiar with the fact that [wedding] documents exist."
If true, the marriage will be legally meaningless because Adnan is still married to his wife, AzLynn Berry.

Britney Spears' cousin has urged the singer to take a break from the showbiz circuit to safeguard her mental health.
Alli Sims said escaping the media spotlight was a crucial step towards improving the popstar's state of mind.
She told The Mirror: "Britney desperately wanted to come out to party with us last night but we had to tell her 'no'. She needs to rein herself in. She needs to take a break from the limelight - from showbiz - and just concentrate on getting herself better.
"[She] is so anxious and so on-the-edge right now. She is incredibly keen to go out and doesn't understand when we tell her it's not a good idea. She just needs a break for as long as it takes until she's completely better."
Spears' relatives have been keeping a close eye on her following her early release from the UCLA Medical Centre last week.
Sims added: "Every day's a struggle but Britney is getting a bit better day by day. I was with her today and, as a family, we are taking turns to watch over her 24/7."

Britney Spears showed off the disappointing results of an intensive home make-over session during a trip to Millenium dance studio over the weekend.
Last week, it was widely reported that celebrity colourist and Extreme Makeover consultant, Kim Vo, spent 4 hours at the troubled singer’s L.A. home working on her neglected tresses.
However, judging by Brit’s bedraggled appearance on Saturday, 4 hours wasn’t nearly enough time to tease the pop wreck’s weave into something resembling a decent hairstyle.
Sporting ripped fish-nets, tacky red hotpants, a stained top and her usual bedraggled mop, braless Brit hit Millenium with dad Jamie for numerous cigarette breaks, punctuated by a spot of dance practice.
People quoted Vo as saying of his Brit assignment: "Britney needed some help with her extensions and wanted to talk about a new color. I hadn't worked with her before, but they asked me so nicely to help,”
After streaking her dark brown locks with a caramel colour, he said: "We wanted to brighten it up a bit. She's ready for something new.”
