"I got so obsessed with [C-SPAN] that it was kind of interfering with my life. Sarah Palin came on, and I thought, Oh, fuck, this is the end. Because a dumb woman is a dumb woman." - CHER

Cher spends $2,500 a week on facials and specialist treatments to maintain her youthful appearance on the sets of her new movie "Burlesque".

Cher also goes for LED light therapy and oxygen infusion techniques, reports gossip.ie.

"Cher also has a spiritual adviser, homeopath and naturopath on standby to keep her mentally and physically centred. She calls them her 'wellness crew' and they set her back another $20,000 over the course of a movie shoot," said a source.

Explaining some of the treatments, Marilyn Martinis, a clinical aesthetician at the Beverly Hills Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, said the LED light therapy would give the 63-year-old's skin a more youthful.

"The LED treatments use a pulse light to treat dark pigmentation and improve the appearance of small blood vessels in the skin," said Martinis.

"The micro-current treatments stimulate facial muscles and temporarily tighten the face by using a galvanizing current," she added.

Cher will combine her acting and singing careers in the upcoming Burlesque, a contemporary musical in which she'll star alongside Christina Aguilera.

Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper said he has been hoping Cher would return to a starring role on the big screen. Getting her for the film required the studio to find room in her busy schedule of touring and performing in Las Vegas, Variety reports.

"She brings a soulfulness and gravitas to this character that will ground the story," Culpepper said. "The only person who was more excited than I am is Christina."

Production will begin in November.

Cher is reported to be in talks to play Catwoman opposite Christian Bale in the third Batman film from British director Christopher Nolan.

The Oscar-winner will join a cast that includes Johnny Depp as The Riddler as she plays the whip-carrying burglar. The character has also been played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.

A studio executive said: "Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants to her to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years.

"The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

Cher Reveals Affair with Tom Cruise

Singer Cher has revealed that she had a brief fling with actor Tom Cruise.

According to the Daily Mail, the singer had an affair with Cruise, who is 16 years her junior, in 1986 at the start of his career.

At the time Cher was 39-years-old and 23-year-old Cruise had released his hit film 'Risky Business' and was working on 'Top Gun'.

The paper reported that Cher, now 61, told Oprah Winfrey: "I was crazy about him."

In the show, which will go to air in the US next month, she spoke of Cruise, now 45, as an awkward young man and she said: "He was shy."

Speaking about the affair, during an interview publicising her upcoming run of shows in Las Vegas, she said: "It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him".

She told Oprah she was currently single and broke up with her last serious boyfriend, actor Rob Camilletti, almost 15 years ago.

Cher added: "Dating is a strange thing. It's not every man who can be comfortable with me. Being Cher is a hard thing and difficult for him to hold his place."
