Las Vegas illusionist Criss Angel and reality television personality and Playboy pin-up Holly Madison have broken up.
The pair started dating late last year.
"Criss and Holly are no longer a couple," their publicist, Steve Flynn, told People magazine. "They remain very close friends and wish each other the very best."
Madison is best known for her work on the reality TV show "The Girls Next Door." She had been dating Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner until last October.
"All she's doing is following Criss Angel around to all of his magic shows, with no legitimate job to speak of," a source told Usmagazine.com.
"She's still heartbroken and regretful about how things went down with Hef. Then she ran into the arms of Criss Angel, but then it's like, 'This is not everything I thought it would be.'"

The illusionist and his girlfriend, Girls Next Door star Holly Madison, smooched and snuggled together Friday night as they celebrated their joint birthdays at Las Vegas's LAX Nightclub.
"I don't want anything for Christmas," Angel, 41, told PEOPLE. "I just want Holly, love, health and happiness, and I have all of those things."
As for his birthday request, he said, "I'm hoping Holly will just put a bow in her head and that will be my present."
The birthday girl seems to want a similar gift. "I just want you," Madison, who actually turns 29 on Tuesday, told him. "I'm in love and I'm so happy."
The couple was presented with a birthday cake in the club – just as they were, again, backstage at Angel's Cirque Du Soleil show, Believe.

Only weeks after dumping Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, Holly Madison has stepped out with illusionist Criss Angel.
The couple has been spotted out kissing and holding hands in Las Vegas over the past week.
Neither the ‘Girls Next Door’ star nor Angel has confirmed the romance.
“This is one of the most special evenings for me in my life and I cannot think of a more beautiful person, a more special person, inside and out, that Holly to spend it with,” Angel said on the opening night of his new Las Vegas show.
Madison became Hefner’s “number 1 girlfriend” in 2002.

"When Cameron met Criss Angel in May of this year, he had been separated from his wife for over a year and she had already filed a petition to divorce him in 2006," Diaz's rep, Brad Cafarelli, tells PEOPLE in a statement. "Cameron and Criss went on only four dates over a month ago and have no current relationship," he said.
As was reported by the New York Post, Joanne Sarantakos, 37, of Long Island, N.Y., is accusing Angel, her husband of five years, of mental cruelty and abandonment – as well as having had an affair with Diaz.
"We're naming Cameron Diaz as his lover," her lawyer, Dominic Barbara, reportedly told the Nassau County court, where Angel (real name: Christopher Sarantankos), 39, and his ex faced off on Friday. "We will subpoena her as soon as she comes back to New York."
In his statement, Cafarelli added, "These are meaningless, attention-seeking attempts to unfairly and unnecessarily exploit Cameron's celebrity by trying to involve her in matters she has nothing to do with."
