"Everyone wanted to know about the weight loss, the weight gain -- how do I do it," she said. "It's just talking about my routine, my workout regimen, my nutrition. I wanted to talk about it."
Janet's body issues go way back to her first acting role, on the 70s television series 'Good Times.'
"I was actually doing 'Good Times,' and on our first day of shooting they bound my chest because they thought my breasts were too big," she said. "I got the part when I was 10, we started shooting when I was 11 -- I was developing early. It made me feel that the way that I am, it's not good enough. That's why I decided to call [the book] 'True You.'"

Janet Jackson is the new face for Blackglama fur, but PETA and one of its staunchest supporters, Pamela Anderson, are not pleased!
Anderson told Out Magazine, "It's disappointing. She had spoken out against fur before. I don't know why some people stop listening to their heart. I guess some people get greedy, but it's sad," Pam said of Janet's decision to wear fur.

Janet Jackson was overcome with emotion as she launched her Rock Witchu tour in Vancouver, Canada on Wednesday night (10Sep08), openly sobbing onstage during one fan-appreciation session.
The pop superstar unveiled her first tour in seven years with a series of hits fans had chosen via a phone-in message service Jackson had set up for concert requests.
And she was so blown away by the response from fans, who cheered and screamed throughout her first show she was caught fighting back tears.
The high-energy concert featured 36 hits from her 30 years in the business and fan-pleasing moments, which included a bondage and sadomasochist segment, where she was joined onstage by a nervous concertgoer.
The concert also featured pre-recorded footage, which allowed Jackson to virtually duet with rapper Nelly and rocker Dave Navarro.
Pop singer Janet Jackson said on Monday she will hit the road for the first time in seven years with the Canadian launch in September of her "Rock Witchu" arena tour through North America.
Jackson, 42, revealed plans for her upcoming concert series during an appearance on the television talk show hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, saying, "I can't wait."
The U.S.-Canadian outing will open September 7 in Vancouver, British Columbia, with subsequent dates scheduled for New York and Washington, D.C., according to a spokesman for concert promoter Live Nation, which is organizing the tour.

"Saturday Night Live" has swapped one R&B superstar for another -- Mariah Carey will replace Janet Jackson on the program this weekend.
Jackson called in sick after coming down with a bout of influenza at the beginning of the week.
Jackson's illness was so severe she checked into a Los Angeles hospital, suffering from shortness of breath.
But "SNL" bosses have now confirmed Carey will serve as the musical guest on Saturday's show, which will be guest hosted by Jonah Hill.
It's not the first time Carey has replaced Jackson -- Carey took a waitress role in the new film "Tennessee" when reported work commitments and film delays prompted Jackson to quit.
Despite her illness, representatives for Jackson insist the singer will be "fine."

Pop superstar Janet Jackson has dropped out of her upcoming "Saturday Night Live" performance because she has the flu, the singer's representative said Tuesday.
"Janet did go to the hospital last night due to the fact she's been suffering from this flu that's kicked a lot of people's behinds," publicist Patti Webster told The Associated Press in an e-mail. "She was never admitted and she is fine."
Still, Webster said Jackson — who visited a Los Angeles hospital — was pulling out of the March 15 "SNL" telecast because "she needs some time to get better."
"SNL" spokesman Marc Liepis said he did not know what music act will replace Jackson.
Jackson, 41, was scheduled to perform live Saturday night in support of her latest album, "Discipline," which was released last month.
