Johnny Depp has trying to convince his "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" helmer Rob Marshall (Chicago) to direct him once again in a remake of "The Thin Man."

The famous detective novel by Dashiell Hammett centers on Nick Charles who — after marrying wealthy, young socialite Norah — gives up a career as a hard-boiled detective to become a semi-professional alcoholic and full-time trophy husband. "The Thin Man" became a hit six-film franchise at MGM and an NBC series that ran from 1957 to 1959.

The remake is set up at Warner Bros, but doesn't have a script. Depp has been looking to develop the property through his Infinitum Nihil production company which is set up at Warner Bros.

Johnny Depp was named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" for the second time this decade.

Says actress Isla Fisher, "Johnny Depp has magical powers. He's funny, generous and clever. It's just a shame he's so hard on the eyes."

The 46-year-old father of two has survived 25 years of show business. When not starring as Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates" franchise, he spends time with his family in France or on their private Bahamian island.

"I can't think of myself in terms of celebrity. It's just too weird. If the choice is between being gawked at and sitting in a chair in a dark room, I prefer the dark room." - Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp's Guest Appearance on Spongebob

SpongeBob Vs The Big One is an extended episode, coming in at roughly 23 minutes. SpongeBob and the show's core cast end up stranded on a desert island. A surfboard is the only way home, so the sponge heads out to find the island's most legendary resident, the surfer king JKL (voiced by guest star Johnny Depp).

Of course, most people will be interested in Johnny Depp's appearance. Amusingly enough for a voice-acting role, Depp actually gets very little dialogue, and what there is he delivers in an intentionally subdued manner.

After years of rumors, it looks like Johnny Depp may finally be set to marry partner Vanessa Paradis.

The latest set of wedding rumors about the pair kicked off last month after the Pirates of the Caribbean star was spotted buying an expensive ring at an exclusive jewellers in Los Angeles.

Now sources close to the pair have said that the nuptials will take place in April, at the chapel on the couple's $1.25 million estate in France: "It’ll be very private and certainly no press or magazine deals.

"It'll be very close friends and family only, no newcomers even as plus-ones."

The couple started dating in 1998 and have previously said they feel no need to marry but Johnny has said he would "do it in a second" if Vanessa wanted to. The pair have two children together, nine year old Lily Rose and five year old Jack.
