Kate Beckinsale has revealed that her pet cat caught fire from a candle at her home as she was getting ready for the Screen Actors Guild Awards last weekend.
The actress said that the cat was now fine but explained that she had got a fright when she saw that he had caught fire.
Beckinsale said: "Our cat, Clive, caught fire on a candle. As I was getting ready, there was a 'whoosh', like a fireball, and he went up like a rocket."
She continued: "He's fine. He had no idea what had happened to him."

During a recent interview with Glamour magazine for the May issue, Glamour asked, 'if she could switch bodies with someone for a day, who would that be?’ Kate did not even have to think, her reply, "Someone with gigantic real breasts, like Queen Latifah," according to People.
Beckinsale (33) seems to be half man or just plain weird, because she is obsessed with breasts. 'If I had big boobs, I would wear really small tops, and jump up and down - so, I could watch them jiggle!'

Kate Beckinsale most embarrassing moment was during an interview with one boob hanging out.
There was this Japanese journalist was supposed to interview her but he was so flustered because of Beckinsale's breast exposed that he could not spit out his question or get his recorder to work.
She said: "It was all my friend's fault, she made me wear this top for this interview and the top kept on malfunctioning in front of this Japanese man.
"I think I scared him."
She added: "Even though my daughter Lily found it funny, I was simply mortified!"
Hmm... I think that Japanese journalist was one of the luckiest guys in the world!
