Britney Spears' ex-husband Kevin Federline had attack dogs on his heels as he tried to lose weight on a U.S. reality TV show.
During one challenge on Celebrity Fit Club, which will air in America on Monday (22Feb10), out-of-shape and overweight Federline and three teammates were chained together as they crossed an obstacle course, while savage dogs hunted them down.
The gracious star agreed to help his pals through the course before competing it himself - and that meant he had to dash for the safety of a cage to avoid what he feared would be a mauling when one teammate struggled to get over a wall.
He says, "I see the dogs coming over the f**king hill... The dogs are maybe 20 yards away."
Federline failed to lock the cage on time and one of the dogs charged through the gate, leaving the dancer/rapper to fend the animal off inside.
But Spears' ex had nothing to worry about - as the raging beast jumped up at him, Federline realised the dogs had been muzzled.

Britney Spears's ex-husband, who is currently dating former college volleyball star Victoria Prince, hasn't soured on marriage, even though his divorce from Spears led to depression that fueled his overeating and made him "borderline obese."
"Anything is possible," he told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS- FM radio show Monday. "Would I get married again? Definitely."
Asked if his divorce from Spears had made him wary of marriage, he said, "No, I'm not. I just want to be happy. Right now, I really am happy. Victoria's a great person. She's an incredible person."

Federline was looking for ideas for his new range at the Project trade show in Las Vegas on Tuesday, and insists his children's clothing will be "reasonable" and well made.
He tells WomensWearDaily.com, "I'm trying to take it seriously and make a quality product for kids but not have parents pay like $500 or something ridiculous for a pair of jeans.
"You buy your kids a pair of True Religions then they roll around in the dirt like kids do and a $200 pair of jeans is gone. With this economy, I'm looking to do something much more reasonable."

Britney Spears will be having a quiet night in with her children on New Years Eve while ex Kevin Federline parties in 2009 with his new girlfriend, it's claimed.
Kevin – who has full custody of their sons Sean Preston and Jayden James – is said to have invited Britney to spend Christmas with him and the boys.
But on December 31, the wannabe rapper has reportedly allowed his ex to have their sons for the evening while he hits Las Vegas with new love Victoria Prince.
A source tells the Daily Star, "Kevin has been getting on much better with Britney recently, so he didn't want to risk setting their relationship back by mentioning Victoria.
"And he knows she's desperate to see the boys over Christmas, so he's letting her visit them at his home over the festive period.
"He then added she could have them on New Year's Eve, as if it was a great favour."

Federline battled Spears through Los Angeles courts to keep sole custody of their young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, earlier this month, following a bitter 18-month court battle.
Spears was ordered to pay him $20,000-a-month in child support.
When asked by People.com how his life was after his court battle with the star, Federline replied, "Been having a good summer, I can't complain."
And the wannabe rapper insists he just wants to get on with his life and focus on bringing up his children: "I've worked here and there a little bit ... (but I'll be) definitely staying at home with the family."
Federline has to juggle being a full-time parent to his two sons with Spears, as well as looking after his two children from a previous marriage.

Kaplan told the magazine that both Spears, 26, and Federline, 30, reached and signed off on a settlement in their custody case.
"At about 8 p.m. PT, a final settlement in the Kevin Federline-Britney Spears custody case was signed. All parties have agreed to the following: Kevin will retain sole legal and physical custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James. Britney will continue to have visitation rights which may increase over time. The agreement will be presented to the court in the morning for approval by the commissioner."
A hearing in the custody battle was set for 11:30 a.m. ET on Friday.
"Kevin is ecstatic and the boys are thriving," Kaplan added.

Britney Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline were in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday for a child custody hearing. This comes as Britney Spears continues to try and get more visitation time with her sons.
The child custody case has been going on for months now between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, as they struggle over their two young sons.
The case began at 12:45 p.m. ET following a meeting between Federline’s lawyer, Britney Spears’ lawyer, and Commissioner Scott Gordon.
The Los Angeles court, at the end of the hearing, ruled for changes in Britney’s visitation with her sons.
The new terms have not yet been revealed, but it seems that Britney Spears did well.
Another hearing was set for July 15th. The visitation status for Spears has changed, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet according to People.com.
Britney Spears was reportedly granted overnight visits with her two children yesterday.
The latest court hearing in her lengthy custody case with ex-husband Kevin Federline allowed the singer to spend more time with her sons, Sean Preston, two, and 20-month-old Jayden James.
A court spokesperson would not comment on whether the reports of overnight visits were true, only saying: "There was a change in visitation status that was ordered by Commissioner Gordon this morning. I'm not at liberty to answer any questions about the nature of that change."
When asked whether she was happy about the outcome of the hearing, Britney - accompanied by father and co-conservator of her estate Jamie - smiled and said: "Yes."
The case will be reviewed in another hearing on July 15.
Britney lost custody of the children in October, and had all rights to see them withdrawn following her alleged breakdown in January.
Subsequent court appearances have seen her visitation time slowly increased.
Meanwhile, it has been claimed Britney left her sister Jamie Lynn's bedside following the birth of her daughter early because she missed her sons so much.
The troubled star was with the 17-year-old actress when she delivered Maddie on Friday (20.06.08) but left the following day.
The 'Toxic' singer was reportedly seen wandering round corridors in the hospital in McComb, Mississippi, looking distressed.
Britney was seen in tears at Los Angeles airport the following day.
