"He's really excited," Alley told PEOPLE Monday of her pal. "I think he will come to the show and watch at some point. I hope. I'll beg."
The actress, who wowed the judges with an impressive cha cha Monday night, said Travolta offered her some pointers.
"His main thing was just have fun," Alley said.
That's good advice but rehearsing for a pressure-filled performance isn't always a joy.
"We always fight," Alley said of the times she's danced in movies with Travolta, adding that it's a similar circumstance with her DWTS pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. "But he's a great guy ... John just dances naturally ... John just makes it look easy."

The cable network has ordered 10 episodes of the as-yet-untitled show, which will follow Alley's up-and-down journey with weight loss and life as a single mom of two. She last starred in the Showtime comedy series "Fat Actress."
Alley will join A&E's stable of reality celebrities including Dog the Bounty Hunter, Gene Simmons and, this December, Steven Seagal.
According to the network, Alley's show will specifically see the actress "launching a new weight loss program, patenting multiple inventions, working hard to raise two normal Hollywood teenagers, True and Lillie, taking care of eight ringtail lemurs, and on top of everything, looking for love."
The series, which is being produced by FremantleMedia, will air next year.

Yo-yo dieter Kirstie Alley's determined to reclaim that bikini-worthy bod she strutted just two years ago, telling Oprah Winfrey she intends to shed 80 pounds by November – and blaming her newly pudgy shape on a lack of motivation.
The 58-year old ex-Cheers actress's highly publicized chronic battle against obesity is far from unique. "About 95 percent of people regain the weight they have lost in less than a year," says psychotherapist Stefanie Barthmare of the Methodist Weight Management Center in Houston.
"People who want to lose weight come in with such fierce determination and commitment in the early stages, but they are more committed to losing weight than to a new lifestyle. The motivation to diet only lasts for a limited period."
Alley, a former Jenny Craig spokeswoman whose weight has long fluctuated, told Winfrey, "I just said, I'm going to cut myself some slack. Big mistake." In 2007, she shared a People magazine cover with another former fatty, Valerie Bertinelli, looking gorgeous in a floor-length blue gown.
But after reaching her goal weight, Alley admitted to Oprah that she turned her home gym into a dining room. "I thought, you know what I need? You know what I haven't had a lot of? I haven't had a lot of dinner parties and company," she said to Winfrey.
"Our emotions play a huge part, too," she says.
"We eat when we are upset, worried, mad and sad. Even when we are celebrating something we eat more than we should." Food today is so processed and loaded with hidden, unhealthy ingredients such as trans fats that it's very easy to overeat, Harbin says.
"And we are a beverage society," she adds. "We might not eat that Big Mac, but we'll drink a big smoothie that has a lot more calories than a Big Mac, and finish it in two minutes."
The best way to keep weight off long-term and maintain an ideal weight is to make lifestyle changes, Barthmare says. "You may have to say to yourself, in my new lifestyle I may not be able to eat dessert every night, and to eat meals out often," she says.
"Look at the lifestyle habits that got you there in the first place and be honest with yourself." Consistent self monitoring is also key, she says.

She has described her body battle as a "never ending fatty-roller coaster ride," and by the looks of Kirstie Alley in LA yesterday, she's on the incline again.
As the actress stepped out for a trip to the nail salon in a summer maxi dress it was clear she's struggled to keep on top of her well-documented battle of the bulge.
It comes just months after the former Cheers star ended her three-year reign as the face of weight loss company Jenny Craig amid speculation company bosses felt her ballooning size meant she was no longer an appropriate spokesperson for the brand.
The 57, who once tipped the scales at 15st 7lbs inspiring her reality-comedy series Fat Actress, had previously lost five stone in three years with the company.
She became a poster girl for healthy weight loss and donned a bikini to show off her new shape on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
After parting ways with Jenny Craig, she vowed to develop her own weight-loss brand with plans to launch in 2009.
While it's unclear if she intends to go ahead with the concept, she is hoping to revive her acting career.

Still kind of big, eh?
Kirstie Alley promised last year she would be bikini size within a year. Oprah and the rest of the audience were wowed that Kirstie Alley had accomplished her goal. She lost 75 lbs. on the Jenny Craig diet.
Last year when she was stated her goal; she weighed 220 lbs. at 5'7" ft.
At age 55-years-old, Alley strutted onto the stage in a bikini on Oprah Winfrey's talk show Monday. Ally never had the courage before to show her practically naked body, even when she was young and skinny. Since losing the weight, her confidence has been on a high.
"I don't think women ever feel like we're good enough or pretty enough or smart enough. But we are and so much more," she said.
Finally...
