Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 30 days in jail Wednesday, after admitting that she had violated the terms of her probation stemming from two DUI arrests, TMZ reports. Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered Lohan to report to jail Nov. 9 to begin her sentence.
The deal is actually a huge break for the actress -- Sautner said that she actually had 300 days coming to her, but most of that will be stayed providing she can follow further therapy and community-service requirements.
While handing down the sentence, Sautner characterized it as "putting the keys to the jail in the defendant's hands."
Under the agreement, Lohan will report to the probation department following her jail sentence, after which she will begin her regimen of community service and psychotherapy sessions. Lohan's case will be revisited on a monthly basis starting on Dec. 14; provided that she fulfills the required therapy sessions and community service hours each month, the remainder of her sentence will be tossed out on March 29.
"From what I can see of you, you need structure, and this is a structure," Sautner told the actress.
Sautner emphasized that the actress will not be eligible for electronic monitoring or house arrest with her jail sentence.
Lohan will continue to serve out her community service at the county morgue, Sautner told the actress. According to the judge, the Downtown Women's Center, where Lohan had previously had been serving her community service, was willing to take her back, but the judge was unwilling to put the center through the experience again.
Sautner also said that she had approached the Good Shepherd Center about accepting Lohan for community service, but they rejected the notion, saying that she would be a bad influence on the women there who are trying to put their lives back together.
